This. Cal could have stayed right there and either forced UK to fahr him and pay his buyout or done his job and coached the UK basketball program to the best of his ability. He chose to leave on his own and start over with a new program. His choice, regardless of how obnoxious and annoying the UK basketball fans are.

It is puzzling then that so many states which chose to secede literally said in their declarations of secession that it was about slavery.

Both sides had a narrative, and the narrative from each side contained grains of truth. It's not wrong to say it was about slavery. It's also not wrong to say it was about states' rights. Lincoln trampled all over the Constitution to maintain the Union. The federal government today holds far more power than the Founding Fathers ever intended.

I fully expect this conversation is going to get moved.
