People are acting like this is just how it's gonne be now.

We are not far from contractual employment. It will be similar to how things are for coaches.

And allowing players their American right to their own Name, Image, and Likeness is not the issue. It is the unrestricted portal. Contracts will deal with that just as in other sports leagues.
I hope it doesn't go the way of contractual employment. I still don't see what everyone is complaining about the way it is now, when we are surging in all sports and portal-ing over players in the big three. And I suspect LVs are about to join in the portal-ing-over fun.

To me, making players employees smacks of the Saban and friends conspiracy* (let's call it that for fun! 😂) to backstab their rivals in order to bring back the long-standing, pervasive role of the NCAA determining outcomes by unjust and corrupt enforcement practices. Because it means "welcome back bag game." It also threatens to get the collectives brought under university mandates unfavorable to us.

As I said immediately at the time the most recent freak-out began (basketball), and still say: we will have a better basketball roster as a result of these movements -- which we did not initiate and did cause some sadness. The basketball forum seems to have finally caught on to that and is very optimistic and happily portal shopping the last day or so.

* Let's just say instead, if someone insists, "a coordinated effort of Saban as self-appointed "elder statesman of football," Sankey, the NCAA, Washington bribe eaters, and irresponsible media. Which prominently features a continual campaign of false and alarmist public claims and propaganda for the sake of accomplishing something that is never spoken of in public. 😂

He's probably never going to be healthy enough to play/practice as much as he needs to in order to compete for all four rounds of a tournament. It's a shame because the talent is still clearly there. I'm not sure many pros could've made the cut in those conditions with the same prep Tiger has had. Hopefully he can finish the tournament and not turn in any high scores. Maybe he can stay around even with the wind settling down this weekend. That would be impressive.

@Tennessee Golfer @peaygolf

Confirm?🤔

This, anybody complaining about NIL and transfer portal are just parroting from Kirby and Saban’s argument. Those ppl don’t want parity in the sport for a reason…

****Also, how is that sanitational??? I can rinse off my truck with a hose but if I don’t scrub it, it's still a dirty truck.

Well would you scrub your truck without water? Or shower with a dry sponge?

You still use a liiitle TP, but you only have to spare a square. Saves $ time and you actually feel fresh like out of the shower. Can never go back once you go bidet. Even traveling...you'll miss the fresh cleanliness.

Not half a roll like someone posted lol (cue Andy from Parks and Rec gif)

It's very sanitary and hygenic. More than just paper, say doctors. Literally a shower for your bottom.

Also good for cities and towns plumbing and sewer systems. Those flushable wipes absolutely terrorize with their infamous fatbergs.

It is weird to me how people in every forum but here tend to go into mass conniption fits every time someone transfers or gets an NIL deal. It's always the end of the world and college athletics is dead and these kids are destroying the world and they are so greedy all like that. Now I know some here like the way things are now and some don't, but that seems more reasonable to me than mass uproar in unison.

For example, the baseball forum. (Great guys, of course) But I mean, with the exception of losing Burns -- who clearly wanted to leave because he wanted to be a starter -- the entire history of NIL and the portal has been one of the baseVols biggest advantages. Look at all the studs Tony brings in every year.

Very sanitary. Far more than paper. Literally a shower for your bottom. Hell, the Japanese came up with it and they're the biggest neat freaks on earth. Can hardly rent a place in areas of Japan as a westerner because we're apparently flithy ogres wearing our dirt shoes indoors 😅
I'm pretty sure the French had bidets long before Japan put the bidet in backwards. Anyway, I did see those kind of toilets in SE Asia, but extremely rarely. But in the airport in Tokyo, it was over the top. The water stream toilets (what is the generic term for them?) such that you could turn on heat, massage, adjust the speed and angle, I don't remember what all. I was like: this is not a spa stop for me, bruh. But it worked fine.

As someone who has had 3 back fusions and a knee surgery...........yea, it's hard to play two days in a row, much less practice every day and play four in a row.

I'm NOT Tiger, but what he's doing is so freaking impressive. I'm not a Tiger "fan" but I'm hoping he can play well over the weekend and finish top 10.
You don't have to be the greatest "athlete" to be good at golf, but the best are true "athletes." It's all about getting in, and staying in, athletic positions. It's hard when you physically can't.

Haven't seen that called in a while. Maybe I've just missed it.

I always thought it was funny... it would start raining but if the pitcher went to his mouth on the mound the ump would call it.
It looked like they were just picking on us. Reminded me immediately of the a-hole Vandy coach asking for the bat check. And making a ruckus. And then getting his a-- kicked at home.

One of my favorite baseball moments, by the way, was in that game when Luc Lipcius -- after that bat check on us -- later homered and, after circling the bases, stopped at the plate and checked his own plate. 😂

Not about fleeting happiness or sadness of a specific fanbase. About what's good for players and coaches and programs (some reasonable balance amongst those interests). What is sensible for the long-term.

An unrestricted portal just makes no sense. Imagine if coaches didn't have contracts. Literally every sport involving $ has ended with the same shape, utilizing contracts. No one does it this way because it's too chaotic.

There will be NIL + contracts of course. Collectives are there for NIL. They are separate. No collective has to join a university and you can have multiple, one for each position.

It would give back sensible roster management capabilities to coaches, while ensuring spots and salaries for players.

I really can't see it going anywhere else. Don't think you can go back to the old transfer policy. And the current environment is utter absurdity for coaches. This is just temporary imo.

Why not give your colon and bum-bum a good spa day?

I think they should have to play out a season, unless the coach changes.

NIL - yes.

Such an unrestricted portal - fully disagree. Imagine being a manager or business owner and having 50% retention and having to rehire and retrain every year. Imagine any other sports league choosing this way. Or having coaches without contracts. Why don't we try that? No one would seriously choose this path for an organization.
