That is huge supposition Orange...I hope so, we could come out ahead...we could also throw snake eyes.
Oh I see what you mean more precisely. Well, I trust Barnes and I have reason to. I distrust the NCAA and I have reason to. So I'm game to try pull it off one more time. And as many times as the NCAA or some successor by a different name would be the alternative. That's just me.

Beautiful day in this great state, where I got to enjoy the O&W game thanks to @SSVol.

Took my oldest daughter and had a great time. Even got to meet Steve Hamer and talked with him a bit. Genuinely nice dude who took time to encourage my daughter to keep up basketball and school. In the same thought he told us how excited he was for Kim Caldwell. He said to get ready to see us take 100 shots a game.

Wonderful day and wonderful environment. Here we are with (very tall) Steve:

A day in the life of little people.

It was a lot like Peyton Manning and the 97 Heisman award. The media had their favorite and the northern voters were too much to overcome.
True but there was one big difference. Woodsons name wasn’t engraved in the award before the 97 season started. Everyone knew Edey was gonna win it again before this season ever started.

OTOH the "remedy" is some variation of putting the NCAA or Birmingham/Indianapolis or bribe-eaters in Washington in charge, and that will result in all the pets of long-standing give a carte blanche to cheat with impunity. And they will assail the rivals of their pets with viciousness. The question I have is who exactly is the institution who is going to trusted to enforce the rules justly? I don't think there is such an entity. So that's the quandary.

I do understand your point. I don't have any problem with you thinking what you think about it.

But, for my part, I think the present situation is the least unjust that I ever witnessed. No exaggeration. It strikes me that as long as "rules" are considered in abstract they can be pretty attractive. But when you see how the NCAA actually and always acts, I would rather inhabit a chaotic place free of their tyranny.
The NCAA is dead...I hate them, but there has to be some law, and hopefully it will be a more just system that replaces it. I hate chaos...and this garbage is nothing but chaos.

I don't want to see a whole new team every freaking year...and I don't want to have to depend on portal luck just to have a team worth a dang.

We are gonna need RB and Co to be really aggressive and accurate in the portal, or next year is probably gonna be pretty rough.

Well, as I said, and prolly don't need to say again, it is not the rules that concern me, but the organization that will be both police and judge. If someone has some ideas about who could be trusted with that power, I'd be willing to think about their suggestion. Honest judges could make even imperfect rules tenable. I'm interested to hear who these people are supposed to be.

Come to think of it, of all pressing matters with respect to the present situation, the most important one right now is for as many as possible to as forcefully as possible state that reason for the present "chaos" (as opposed to crooked tyranny) is that no rational person should trust the NCAA or some new NCAA by a different name. The NCAA is the cause of the so-called chaos and should be identified as such. They want to scare people into falsely believing that they are the solution.

Also, it's not a whole new team. We'll prolly take 3 transfers. I'm very optimistic about our football portal players.

(And that's it for me 😂 )

Look...the only thing I really have a huge problem with is the transfer portal being so ridicuous...it can't go on like this.

Did anyone see Vitello's post game remarks? Someone said he made reference to the LSU as having regularly negatively recruited Vols baseball, telling prospects that Tennessee is merely a product of having a smaller ball park. So our HRs are supposedly counterfeit, you see.

So Vitello, I heard, pointed out that that was a hellva thing for LSU to say when they couldn't hit a single home run at LNS. 😂

I have trouble resisting a response. I think it can go on like this. I think that phrase is propagandistic. Not when you say it (don't misunderstand me). But in its perpetual repetition in the media. It wants to frighten people into restoring the crooked, lying, cheating, absolutely intolerable ancien regime.

It absolutely can go on like this. I say what can't go on is the way the NCAA has continually abused its power. No more.
