Absolutely! That’s why Yosemite National Park is bringing back its policy of requiring reservations for entry during much of the year, a move designed to limit overcrowding after sometimes three-hour backups at entrance stations.
Yeah...and ruining some folks lifelong dream of going there at the best time which is in June when all the waterfalls see going.

These rules for Yosemite, Glacier, Zion and I think Arches now too...are especially bad for poor people like me.

But hell...who cares as long as the lucky or well off don't have to wait in line or deal with the unwashed masses...amirite?

If you don't understand how it makes visiting in the best time hard for poor people..then I am not going to argue.

Some people love it...I don't and never will.

Hey @Ulysees E. McGill just booked a trip to MT in June. We’re gonna fly fish in Ennis MT on the Madison River then head south to Wyoming and camp on the Snake River just north of GTNP. Then hike Cascade Canyon to Lake Solitude in the park. Finish with a day in Yellowstone. 🏔️
You'll sleep for a week after all of that

Wow...I'm really jealous...but I hope you have a great time with good weather...that place is heaven to me. Are you camping close to Flagg Ranch, Grassy Lake campsites or Headwaters campground in the JD Rockefeller Memorial Parkway?

We started to rent a cabin at Flagg for the whole week long duration of our mid Sept 2017 trip out there, but we ended up staying in a cabin at Colter Bay in GTNP for 3 days, and then moved to Moose Bay cabins on Henry Lake Idaho just 5-10 miles down from the West Yellowstone YNP entrance for the last 3 days...and I'm glad we did, it started snowing the afternoon we left Grand Teton and the south entrance was closed for 3-4 days..I got lucky with planning for once..lol.

I believe Glacier is removing the car reservation policy this year.

Grassy Lakes is our plan. Is it good?

We agree on a lot of things..this topic is where we kinda part ways.

Chaos is good for no one ling term, it leads to entropy...and what is going on now is pure stupid chaos.

Sure you MAY get LUCKY and get the right guys sometimes and make a run...but this is no way to build a firm foundation for the program, it is building on shifting sand...which is pure foolish stupidity.

Depending on a crapshoot is ridiculous...just watch what happens when we have to pick up 4-5 portal players just to ensure a good team, and miss the evals on 2-3 of those that we HAVE to hit on to have a good team..how does a NIT bid or worse sound? (I REALLY hope this doesn't happen)

Several teams..including us got lucky this past year, but that has not blinded me to the obvious pitfalls.

We have to completely rebuild the team this year because of graduation and portal defections...I hope we do great at getting players to jump to us or it will get ugly...guys like Knecht are rare.
OTOH the "remedy" is some variation of putting the NCAA or Birmingham/Indianapolis or bribe-eaters in Washington in charge, and that will result in all the pets of long-standing give a carte blanche to cheat with impunity. And they will assail the rivals of their pets with viciousness. The question I have is who exactly is the institution who is going to trusted to enforce the rules justly? I don't think there is such an entity. So that's the quandary.

I do understand your point. I don't have any problem with you thinking what you think about it.

But, for my part, I think the present situation is the least unjust that I ever witnessed. No exaggeration. It strikes me that as long as "rules" are considered in abstract they can be pretty attractive. But when you see how the NCAA actually and always acts, I would rather inhabit a chaotic place free of their tyranny.

Apparently Barnes & Co are bringing in Igor Milicic Jr. on Tuesday from Charlotte. Some in BB Forum don't like that.... idk why, this dude is incredible.

6'11" Croatian. His father played professionally in Europe and is currently a professional European coach.

He shoots 38% from 3. 82% from the line. 49% from the field. Several clips of him running the floor with the ball and finishing. Super athletic and mobile. Looks like he can shoot from anywhere. Averaged 32 minutes per game this season with 8.5reb, 13pts, and 1 block per game. Only a Junior. Oh, and he started out at Virginia before transferring down to Charlotte for 2 years.

This dude has the tools and pedigree to be a high draft pick after a year or two at Tennessee imo. Not an expert on the NBA but he seems to have the prototypical skills for today's league.
We need scorers. Badly. Not sure why anyone would be disappointed in 38% from 3 from a guy that size.

Beautiful day in this great state, where I got to enjoy the O&W game thanks to @SSVol.

Took my oldest daughter and had a great time. Even got to meet Steve Hamer and talked with him a bit. Genuinely nice dude who took time to encourage my daughter to keep up basketball and school. In the same thought he told us how excited he was for Kim Caldwell. He said to get ready to see us take 100 shots a game.

Wonderful day and wonderful environment. Here we are with (very tall) Steve:

That is huge supposition Orange...I hope so, we could come out ahead...we could also throw snake eyes.
Sure. And so could everybody. That is more just imo than letting the NCAA or Birmingham or some hybrid monster of the two choose winners and losers and thus rig outcomes. Everybody has a fighting chance. No one get blanket immunity from this market, which I do think will somewhat settle down. ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯

I try to understand what would be proposed to follow this. And no one convinces me that all the new rules will be -- or even can be -- justly administered.

It's a Gatlingburg bit for lifelong visitors and locals.

If you've been to Gatlinburg over the last 30 years, you'll recognize the landmark.

Idk what defines Yoesmite Valley..but Fresno and everything south of Yosemite seemed awful. Our taxi driver out of the Fresno airport said it was the city that god left behind 😅 We did not disagree.

Yosemite was amazing though. My pictures from 10 years ago just flashed on Facebook the other day. El Capitan from the bridge was my favorite. Seeing all the dots on the face...then realizing they were all hanging tents of climbers...blew my mind
You don't know what Yosemite Valley is? 😳 It is the deep valley cut through the Sierras by glaciers that you were standing in when you were on the bridge over the Merced looking at El Cap.

Yosemite National Park as a whole is WAY more than just the valley, about 750,000 acres or 1200 square miles (roughly as big as Rhode Island) but the 7-8 square miles of Yosemite valley is rightfully the busiest and must crowded part....but all of Yosemite is spectacular

Fresno is about 60ish miles away, and is in the giant central valley of California..the small towns near Yosemite National Park that would be comparable to Gatlinburg as entrance points to the park are Oakhurst or Mariposa, but neither of them have the destination vibe of Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge...people visit Gburg and Pigeon Forge to actually be there and only visit the SNP as a side thing, people go to the Oakhurst area or Mariposa area for a close place to stay while visiting Yosemite.

I forget that most people are not National Park nerds and don't really know much about them.
