He looked explosive last week.Small is really an outstanding all-rounder: running, blocking, catching, and he really knows the offense. He has always given his all for Tennessee.
That he is being eclipsed now shouldn't dampen our appreciation of the guy. He is a gutsy VFL. And he has always been a team player in the RB room. He may win us a game this year, who knows?
Their primary receiver is out. It sounds like their OL (which hasn't been good) is a walking MASH unit this week. (7 out of practice, and robbing from the practice squad OL just to be able to practice this week.)The problem is their QB and WRs are better than ours...and our DBs suck.
I'm not attacking his development, but I'm questioning it atm. He developed players left over from the last staff, and I give him major kudos for that. Especially with Wright. Sure, Wright was a 5* player, but we didn't see him play like that until Elarbee got a hold of him. But my questioning comes from, where is the development for the players he's actually recruited? We haven't seen it yet. Clipper, Reddick, Nichols... Where are these guys? They are griping about his recruiting...I don't think they are attacking development
AP says 50/50I bet we checker for Georgia or A&M.
Probably A&M if you listen to AP.
We could have god coaching DBs, but if Hadden is the best we got to run out there it still wouldn’t make a difference. If the problem is our DBs, which I agree they're a problem, I think the solve is easy. Replace Martinez. I questioned the hire of Willie Martinez when it was made. I still think it was a mistake.
Their primary receiver is Leggette, and he's not out. Someone needs to Nancy Kerrigan his ass.Their primary receiver is out. Our DL is a strength, especially our ends. This means there's a really good chance that we can crash the interior line (pocket) while containing Rattler at the edges, all without having to blitz. That == sacks. That also means that our secondary doesn't have to be flawless.
Also, SCj hasn't shown a running attack to offset the above.
Also, they will be in our house this time, and that crowd noise will not make any of the above easier.
