247's Brad Crawford and Chris Hummer threw down their weekly predictions.

They split on the spread prediction, but the two took UT by 14 and 7 points respectively. 10.5 point average win.

Fwiw each of them is currently an impressive 56.5% against the spread.

I don't know Sampson's assignment, obviously. But I've seen the defensive tackle go through the guard like a turnstile a few times and I've never seen anyone blame the running back for it. I have a feeling if it was that simple, Aaron Donald wouldn't have won all those DPOY awards.

I maintain that Sampson's pass protection "problems" are entirely based on one play that happened over a year ago.

Play is at 11:33. I dare anyone to watch Karic on this play and then say this sack is in Sampson lol.

We have no idea if Sampson was the safety net or not.

56 is impressive for someone who gets paid for that?

Karic has certainly struggled

1) 56% is very impressive for any person. Basically printing money. It's typically considered the sweet spot for winning the most money (assuming increased volume of bets).

2) They aren't gambling experts, just longtime CFB writers afaik. I know Crawford has been a sports writer for a long time. Just know Hummer as a 247 network regular. But clearly they live and breathe CFB, which most certainly gives them an edge.

Go ahead and check #14,696 too while you're at it. Opens to the spot.

The SEC officials struck again last Saturday. Memphis wanted to try an onside kick late in the game without a tee. Ryan Silverfield told them it was legal. The officials said it was not, and they would get penalized. He disagreed and said he knew the rules. But he decided against it. Near the end of the game, they approached him and apologized because it was indeed, legal.
