Fair enough. I just don’t get the overblown hype over barely beating a team that Cal Stark would be the best hitter on if he played for them, and who’s pitchers have the worst ERA in the league but largely handled us.

That’s not what I’m doing. I just don’t think the sweep means as much as some do.

I don’t care if Missouri isn’t very good, the fact we won 2 SEC games 3-2 has me feeling a bit better about this team. Our offense is elite, but I haven’t bought in on this team as an Omaha team yet because we don’t have the pitching talent we normally do. I’ve been needing to see us prove we can win games where our bats are asleep, and even though Missou isn’t great, the fact we still won these games is a nice step forward.

I kind of like this team having to win some close ones. When they get to the post season they will probably have to win some close ones. Better to have a few under your belt.

Our offense is elite, but I haven’t bought in on this team as an Omaha team yet because we don’t have the pitching talent we normally do. We just went back to back games without HRs and still found a way. It's definitely a pitching committee this year but solid enough to get it done. We are 11th in ERA this season.

I’m sorry sweeping the worst team in the conference isn’t making me feel like we just won a super regional.

I’m going to disagree with your disagreement with me.

We’re 11th in ERA nationally. Everyone’s pitching sucks. When being that high makes you feel bad about where our pitching is, it says more about what Frank and Tony have been able to set as a standard than it does about where we actually stand in reality.

That said, pitching does have to be better by tournament time.
