You can see from advanced stats that Georgia is really good on both sides of the ball. We are in the next tier with Alabama on both sides of the ball. LSU is much better on O than D but not terrible defensively. A&M is the opposite of LSU and leans on defense. Ole miss will try to beat you with offense but are poor defensively. Kentucky is a defensive team (opposite of Ole Miss). Florida is middle of pack in O and D but not terrible in either. Vandy and MSST look bad on both sides. Auburn and USC look kind of bad but have a side of the ball they lean on. Looks like Missou is very fortunate to have the record they have.

Unless they expand to 24 teams like the FCS has then autobids don't make any sense. The champion of any power conference will in all likelihood have a good enough resume. Even then Big12 and ACC.

If you're a G5 and wanna make the playoffs then you better go undefeated. It's the only way you can rationalize their inclusion and the committee will just have to asses whether or not 12-0 Liberty would make more sense over a 10-2 9-3 power conference school. Which I think can be possible considering style points and whether or not they beat any P5 teams.

Right now No.25 Fresno State who has wins over Arizona State and Purdue should have a very good and deserving shot at finishing in the top 12 if they run the table in the mountain west.
That's what it will eventually a 24 team playoff like FCS and do away with Bowl games...During December I watch FCS playoff games which are a lot better than watching the Idaho Potato Bowl...😎

Yeah I think it's pretty awesome. It's cool to watch a playoff game in like New Hampshire or Montana when it's all frigid and everything's on the line.

I dont really want us to expand anymore. Keep the sanctity of the regular season! There's also more parity at the FCS level, so it makes more sense for them to have that many teams in the playoffs.

I said the same thing about him not being in game shape and to not expect the same Cooper when he returns a couple of weeks ago. Some around here didn’t agree.
I agree...it will amaze me if he performs very well....that is a lot to ask and it would qualify for being called amazing.

Yea N.D.St.and S.D. State have become powerhouses on FCS level....really competitive games most of the time...seeding matters also only game on Neutral site is Championship game...

Where can I read about their injury woes?
It started with this Chicken news McNugget: Tuesday afternoon South Carolina football injury update Then made it's way to twitter. But see this:
I just checked their depth chart and they still have all their starters, plus 6 more back-ups. That does not include their freshmen OL.

#55 Jakai Moore missed practice but is supposedly OK to start on Sat.

They lost 3 of their starters from 2022, plus OT Jaylen Nichols is supposedly out long term. But they also picked up two transfers (#69 at LG & #77 at RT).

Maybe Beamer wants to lull us into a false sense of security?
I seem to recall Sling Blade announcing once before that Juice would not play and then playing him.

Legette, who is healthy and having a big year, is their best WR. But that's not what you asked, and I think you already know that.

I read the 247 article where they quoted him and honestly it sounded like him prepping excuses for the ass kicking he’s about to endure

Auto Bids for specific conferences is just dumb. I mean really dumb.

Unless your goal is “equity” amongst the conferences, then it makes sense - and that would also be dumb.

The goal should be to assemble the best field possible. Not some misplaced attempt at “fairness”. That’s garbage.

I could potentially get on board with some spots for “highest ranked” conference champs. Maybe. But that’s ALL conferences.

If the Sun Belt champ outranks the Big12 champ - then too bad, Kansas.

View attachment 582976Offensive Beta_Rank | Sharp CFB

Thought this site was cool. Not sure how accurate but looks right. Someone posted a stat about offensive passing explosiveness. With running included, we are #2 in the SEC and #7 in the country in explosiveness. Using advanced statistics, we are #4 nationally in overall offensive scoring. #7 nationally in drive efficiency, #1 in play efficiency, #9 in negative drive rank, #19 in schedule rank, #2 in rushing rank, #44 in pass rank.
Those ratings are still heavily loaded with priors from last years’ data. Sharp is usually pretty solid, but I’ve had to remove it from the team ratings I use in my own analysis for early season.

That was my impression, but I didn't refer you to it. 😂 It'll be interesting to see if the broadcast booth repeats Sling Blade's story without qualification. And how many times.

If they’re smart they’ll try to create a bidding war between sec and big 10. But if sec wants em they gotta find someone else too. Who would that be? My vote would be for fsu or ga tech.
Stupid stupid stupid.

They're going to end the ACC conference.

These ******** idiots

Someone told me the other day that when douchey Beamer was an assistant at Oklahoma he got so excited when they scored on a opening drive that he ran to and head butted the player in his helmet on the sideline, and needed his swollen noggin stitched up by the trainers during the game. Idk. Brainiac move, if true.
Definitely an alpha.

After watching Chimp Empire I realized the alpha male is typically the dumbest brute of the group, just a bigger bully than the rest. They'd literally run around banging on trees to "show off", scaring the crap out of the entire group and causing the females to protect their children, but if a child chimp was in the alpha's path, they'd sling it into a tree. Basically they were just assholes...ergo, Beamer 😆
