Well, I guess it's about time for mosquito day.
We have a pond and also a small coy pool. Is there a kind of fish in particular that will eat the most mosquitoes in either place? Will the difference be enough to make a dint or notice the difference? I suppose those loud-a frogs eat their share.
Anyone getting eaten alive by them yet? What's the best way to get rid of them?

OFF! or Backwoods?
Those work for hiking, etc. For just chilling on the patio or porch, wifey just angles a small adjustable floor fan up at her and the air disturbance keeps them off. I think low speed works.

Good idea with the fan. I'm getting a few citronella candles, I guess they work. I'll probably get a couple cans of backwoods for the summer.

May just splice an extension cord into some jumper cables and hook it to an old metal grill grate, then hang it near the back porch. Should get the job done 😂.

Fogger on shrubbery and foliage on your property and plant rosemary around areas you congregate.

Low impact high cost and effectiveness get those butane or propane cells

High impact low cost fog biweekly with any number of fogging mixes.

Highest cost - pay someone to fog

It is true mosquitos cannot fly against a strong breeze. The fans are just not always practical.

Okay,
Seriously- can someone explain why KY potentially has the overall #1 seed, yet we are currently ranked #1 in the country? KY has won one more conference game than us, but we won the series? I obviously don’t understand college baseball rules/criteria/rankings. I assume this weekend’s games and the remainder of the season plays into the final seedings?

Thanks!

I just looked it up. Because it is the scent that does the work, in addition to plants (which, as you say, have to be nearby), you can put a few drops of rosemary oil diluted in water in a defuser or directly on your skin diluted in another oil like almond.

I am going to score so many points with wifey based on this knowledge! 😂 They go after her more than they do me.

This weather sucks. Just waiting for it to push through Ooltewah and get the hell out of here. Never seen this many active tornado warnings (across the southern plateau and NE AL mainly) at one time in my life. Wild.
Where in the heck were you at in 2011? That is the worst tornado outbreak I have ever seen in the south...by FAR. It is historic in it's ferocity.

Don't mess with old prophets

23 Then he went up from there to Bethel; and as he was going up by the way, young lads came out from the city and mocked him and said to him, “Go up, you baldhead; go up, you baldhead!” 24 When he looked behind him and saw them, he cursed them in the name of the LORD. Then two female bears came out of the woods and tore up forty-two lads of their number.

We are a mile off Bear Creek and watched it track across the valley in front of our hill from the porch just by accidental timing between trips to the basement. Never been that close to one before. It incredible.
The huge forgotten F5 Rainsville Tornado in the 2011 outbreak missed us by a half mile..I never want to be that close to another tornado of any size again either. If you wanna see that awesome tornado footage, there is a YouTube video that documents it in it's entirety...just type this in..

"Rainsville-The strongest Tornado you've never heard of"

Commercial pest control services use a variant of concentrated garlic oil fogged into nestling areas of a property with a rigged leaf blower. Thing about garlic tho...

My mosquito day will be here soon. Right now I have a few Swainsons Thrushes around but they'll leave soon and the mosquitoes will be back
