Forgot about the geomagnetic storm until I started seeing all the pictures last night. So my wife and I went out and was like, “where is it? Did we miss it?” Went back inside then was sent more pictures from a friend and went back outside again… nothing.

Finally, in talking to the friend, she was said “oh I can’t see it just looking at the sky either. I had to take my camera and do a long exposure picture and then look at it and it’s there.”

I must have gave her a weird look (we were FaceTiming) because she said no really, so I went back outside. Looked up, didn’t see ****, took out my phone and pointed it towards the darker area of my backyard, took a picture and boom.. there it was. Pretty cool.

Going to take out my wife’s nice camera tonight though and try and get some cooler shots. Maybe do a timelapse shot. I’m not great with photography, but seeing people that are on twitter and their shots is really cool.

I still want to head to Iceland to see the Northern Lights without the need of a camera and away from light pollution one day though.

I'm jealous of everyone who saw the Aurora borealis last night. I'm further north than you but we still had cloud cover from this past week's storms. The sky was bright above the clouds but you couldn't make it out.

My brother and some friends of ours could see them... They live well outside the CLT city limits... We're in the city and couldn't see them. Really cool.

I've got friends in North Florida who saw it smh. Literally told my wife a few months ago it was a bucket list thing to see.
