In a 3 game series, pretty much anything can happen. You might think you have a great draw and run into a team whose top two pitchers are lights out and you are back home watching.

If we were #1 the Idiot Margin would still bitch...they would throw out words like "inconsistent" and "unreliable"...or other such garbage.

It also goes back to people only remember being right that one time they say TV should have changed pitchers and don't recall any of the other times they said it and it turned out the pitcher settled down and threw great for the rest of his appearance and it would have been dumb to take him out at that moment.
