I’d hope everyone that is at the college world series would be willing to do that… My brother in law made a catch running into a hard metal fence playing a slow pitch softball tournament 25 years ago. That was a great play and tone setter by Hunter last night.

I like winning at everything, but combined amongst all the schools people have spent over $150k on jello shots. People can do what they want with their money, of course, but man a lot of good could be done with $150k.

Bro!..he sucks under pressure with anyone on base..has zero tricks in his bag..scouting report strictly says.”curveball pitcher” and more times than not leaves one hanging over the zone and it’s sent to the moon or a RBI…great kid and appreciate what he’s done for the vols but a spade is a spade I’d give anything to have Redmond Walsh Back in this World Series run versus Kirby…night and day difference..Redmond was cold blooded under pressure

I don’t necessarily agree with this opinion but I respect it bc it was given after a great performance…. I don’t think he has been as effective as in years past but he has saved our rears a few times as well.

Didn’t Walsh almost let GT come back and beat us in the regional? Gave up 2-3 runs or something like that.

Other than that he pitched 2 innings in two super regional games (I think). Not sure how he can call Walsh a cold blooded killer when Kirby is playing on the biggest stage

If anything, they are pretty identical

That’s like 30,000 shots at $5 per shot. Rocco is gonna gross a quarter mil on less than $1,000 worth of supply.

They donate the proceeds (or at least part) of the shots to campus food pantries and the Food Bank in Omaha.

Tbf, this contest goes to charity. The money gets donated to the food banks in the college towns.

A portion of the money does, not all of it. Still yet 25 percent is better than nothing.( Example) Don't know exact percentage.

Stand corrected split between all 8 teams so yes it's for a good cause, yet let's not act like the bar made no money..

Just read that delay lasted around 10 minutes, why was individuals acting like it was a long time?

I've watched half innings last longer with Tennessee at bat while the starting Pitcher sat in dugout, rocking back and forth like Leo Mazzone.

Redmond Walsh and Kirby Connell are entirely different pitchers woth different styles. I think people don't respect that enough.

For starters, neither are ace pitchers that are going to blow strikes past you or throw something filthy.

Walsh, as a closer, came in to throw strikes and give up ground balls for easy outs. You expect Walsh to get hit but you don't expect him to pile up baserunners, give up extra base hits, or walk a guy. But Walsh had great accuracy and consistency and always knew what you were getting. I think there was an outing (or several) he had where he threw 3 pitches for 3 groundouts to finish the game. That's his job. That's what he did.

Kirby seems to have a little more stuff and can make you miss. But he's also not even used as a closer anymore, probably because he allows more baserunners. But he can go through a lineup at least once and, again, he's a veteran who's pretty darn consistent.

If you go back and listen to the start of this clip the announcers were talking about UNC having comebacks, and what would they do against UT. That play was a pretty prophetic exclamation point that they could try, but we had answers.
