My son has finally decided on a career path. He wants to be a roofer. I will fully support him. He is just beginning to learn the trade, but his boss says he is picking up everything really quickly. I mean, he's not the best roofer in the world yet, but he is up there.

I'd say you'd have to give it to the only gymnast ever so good that the sponsors of all her rivals got together and had the governing body ban the stunning move she invented because no one else could perform it. They said it was too dangerous, meaning, one might suppose, that they thought anyone else who tried would hurt themselves.

Pedigree/tradition. Actually in the southeast. I dunno, why haven’t they kicked vandy to the curb? How did mizzou make it in? I guess you could say we’re not really the southeastern conference anymore, and so need to broaden our horizons. By the measures you mentioned, why don’t we just poach some Big 10 schools?

No thanks to all Big 10 schools. There's knly 4 traditional Big 10 schools worth having. Two of them are almost to the Canadian border (Mich and Wisc). The other 2, OSU and PSU, just don't fit in the SEC culture. PSU is almost in the south-hating Northeast and have been mediokra since Sandusky scandal despite a couple years of manufactured media hype due to their coach.

OSU would fit from an athletic and academic profile but not culture wise. They're a Midwestern version of Texas with worse in-state recruiting and are hundreds of miles further north than the KY border. Their fans hate the SEC and many look down on the South..... which is hilarious if you've been to Blowhio.

Vandy is a founding member, has some good sports programs and is academically better than GT. Every league needs a couple of doormats so why get rid of them and bring in GT? It gains the SEC nothing and GT would hate being in the same conference as UGA. Also, I like having the league doormat be our in-state rival and would not want them moving to a weak conference where they can win more in football and recruit Nashville better.

Gainesville got a cute vibe and plenty of good spots, all around the main square. We like Recess (little known thing here - wine prices are unheard of good) and Yellowfin. Atlas for pizza (place called Peyton’s pie company supposed to be some good competition but I haven’t been personally). Heard the stag chophouse is good and if you like music then the new bourbon bros is a good venue (no idea about their food).

Dawsonville Blue bicycle bistro only place I can recommend in that area unless you are down for cheap eats and chains.

Cumming I don’t know that well but they have exploded growth wise so I’m sure google reviews won’t lead you astray there.

Off the beaten path, if you like steakhouses and are willing to go to canton, I have been told by more than one person that J Michael Prime is the best steakhouse in the state.

I feel that sarcasm was originally intended for spoken dialogue, since one’s tone of voice is so critical to deliver sarcasm. So we’re already kinda using it in a weird way.

I can't sleep, we go to tour UTMartin tomorrow. My daughter will be a senior this year. She wants to go into the vet school at UTK. Two of the vets that we work with went to UTK and they recommended she go to either Martin for pre vet or second choice Tenn Tech. Then UTK Veterinary School in order to save money.......

This is so very stressful for us. My daughter has worked very hard to put herself into a situation where this is even possible. You can't imagine how proud I am....... And scared. Next year we will be helping her transition into the next phase of her life. She's nervous, I'm a wreck.... Just holding it together on the surface so she doesn't sense my apprehension. My little girl will not be under my roof and not within a few minutes for me to rescue her.

UTM is a good choice. I’ve met a couple of students who did the same. One was small animal focused the other large.
