I mean for a super eruption type of event. Would we see big indicators or would it just look like it might be a little more angry than normal? I'd assume there would be several major events and it wouldn't just level civilization all with one unexpected eruption.

Some people were talking about it years ago. Seems like they said it would be unimaginably huge. Like a normal volcano eruption we see today is maybe a couple hundred feet wide. This could be miles or more wide. I'm probably off on these measurements, but the size they were claiming was ridiculous.
Its the entire Yellowstone basin. Like, all of it.

The Yellowstone Caldera is 43x28 miles wide (!!!) and any Supervolcanic eruption would certainly have world altering effects but cataclysmic ones for the US. There would be signs months, possibly years in advance that a super eruption was imminent.

A Supervolcano is just a volcano that has had or is capable of producing a VEI 8 eruption on the Volcanic Explosivity Index such as Yellowstone or Toba. Your largest VEI 7 and 6 Eruptions are ones people know about as very large but standard eruptions like Tambora (VEI 7) and Mt St. Helens, Krakatoa, Mt Pinatubo, and Mt Etna and Vesuvius (all VEI 6).

Just in case this hasn't been covered by anyone yet, what happened in Yellowstone today was NOT a volcanic eruption, and it is not a precursor to a volcanic eruption. It was a hydrothermal explosion. They are not uncommon in Yellowstone. There was another one just in April 2024. There was also one at the same location as today's (Biscuit Basin) back in 2009.

Even regular volcanoes give clear signals (such as significant seismic activity) before a large eruption. The Yellowstone supervolcano is massive. It's not going to erupt without people know it's coming.

Happy Wednesday

July 24, 2024: When things seem to go wrong, it is not necessarily your fault. Go easy on yourself even if you have some culpability. There is always an element of time and chance, so make the best of your circumstance, and put your faith in Me to bring your through trying times, says the Lord. Ecclesiastes 9:11 I returned and saw under the sun that--the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor favor to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all.

What in the hell are the effin’ Dodgers gonna send to get Garrett Crochet, AND Luis Robert, AND Kopech???

Blatantly disgusting.
Really weird statement coming from a Yankees fan, although we all know the Yankees have NEVER signed or traded for the players to win a World Series.🧐
