Do you think Bama deserved to be ranked above us when we proved on the field in 22/23 season or on the court this year? I don’t think my comment deserved your reaction, but whatever.
bene V, haven't you been here long enough to know what im talking about, that I shouldn't have had to use blue font? All the times people have talked about the biases against UT/for Bama, and they've been called conspiracy theorists, or some other such stupid sh!t...been told to take off their "tinfoil hats"??

Absolutely not, do I think Bama should have been ranked above us...not last year in football, not this year in basketball. I believe it's just another example of the bullsh!t many have seen and acknowledged for years and years.

I thought my Like for your original post should have been the kicker. 🤷‍♂️

Anyone listen to the RTI pancakes and bacon pod? I don’t generally based on how annoying reed bacon is, but once or twice a year during spring and again I think during fall they get to sit in an entire practice, whereas traditional media only gets 15 minutes. And then they do a pod and talk about what they saw.

They just published the spring one. It’s about 90 minutes long so I only heard the approximately the first half on my drive to work today.

Ignoring everything bacon said, here are some things Kerbyson shared that I found noteworthy:

  • Sounds like the Okoye at tight end experiment might be over. He’s still listed as a tight end on the roster but was practicing at end. KK said physically he looks like a dude but every play they had a coach tell him what to do and he would do it. He was always looking to the sideline for instruction. So clearly still very raw.
  • Lance Heard looks great in pass pro but needs work in the run game. Keeps his hands outside and he’s chest too open. Not using any of his natural gifts when he does that. Said that can easily be fixed.
  • Umarov looks like a guard physically.
  • Duncan working at tackle which we knew. Said he has the build for it. Looks like a tackle.
  • Satterwhite at center and very technical. Looks the part and impressive as a freshman.
  • Dylan Samson got compared to AK in how he can get hit but it doesn’t affect him, how he can just brush it off and keep going despite being smaller.
  • Desean Bishop got rave reviews. Said he did great on the second play in teams - Stayed in to block but no one came his side so he went out for a pass, ball was kind of behind him but he made a great catch, juked someone cold and then ran up field and trucked Telander. Also said he did great staying in the pocket and picking up a blitz later. KK referred to him as a walk on but I thought he was on scholarship.

That was it. Started talking about tight ends but nothing of note was mentioned. I’ll listen to the rest later and share anything interesting if no one else has yet. But it’s a good pod to check out if you’re bored or need your Vols football fix.

Happy Wednesday.

April 10, 2024: Leave the past behind, and reach for the highest and best that you can be. Rejoice in your triumphs and learn from your mistakes. Keep your vision clear by focusing on your relationship with Me, says the Lord. Set yourself to hear My voice and obey My leading. I will never lead you astray. Isaiah 53:6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Sorry, I’m glad I didn’t go with my original response. 🤣🤣 The sarcasm definitely went over my head.

Other bullet points:

Reed sat there eating and cleaning his teeth on camera, and then eventually started describing the farts he was ripping on air "just to be professional" about it.

I have no idea why Kerb doesn't sit him down and ask "WTH, dude?!".

Let's walk down the margins of victory or loss for Purdue this post season.

Rd 1: 28 over Grambling St
Rd 2: 39 over Utah St
Rd 3: 12 over Gonzaga
Rd 4: 6 over Vols
Rd 5: 13 over NC State
Rd 6: loss by 15 to UConn

Who gave Purdue it's closest non-loss us.
Who gave Uconn their closest non-loss Bama. We beat Bama twice.

There are no transitive properties in any sports, but we were a final four level team all year. We were a few less fouls or missed shots from playing for it all. Barnes has had a lot of tough draws like this that no one ever remembers.
He has also had a few easy draws as well.

More than 2 years, no doubt.

Within 2 years, guess you'd have to pick just 2 b2b years lol. Tough to do.

But just a tough comparison too. The tourney was only 4 games to a title back then. Looked at the late 60s, early 70 teams and they had some 5-11 pt wins.

Just in terms of domianting the NCAA tournament (where my head was, though I didn't make that clear - wasn't talking full seasons, hell they were only a 5 seed last year).
There is a lot of fluff in the tourney now, probably should be 16 teams at most ( that would save Kentucky a lot of embarrassment). There was a stretch when you knew you were going to lose if you were playing UCLA. And that was a time when the pro game wasn't as popular. There was never before or since been dominance like that. I never felt that there was zero chance UCONN was going to lose in any game, for a while that was every game for UCLA.
