Recruiting Football Talk VIII

This Tennessee team has a real shot to be remembered as one of the best collegiate teams of all time, based on the offensive and defensive performance and the eye test to this point in the season. It's plain to see that Nico is in the top-tier of great college QB's so far. If they can keep this up, and there are zero signs it's a fluke, they could finish the season with a claim as one of the most complete, exciting college teams to ever step on the field.

That is probably a lot to ask, but it's not absurd. I've wanted our Vols to have a true shot at greatness since I was born a couple decades ago. They are finally in position and have the opportunity. I hope our guys are up to the challenge and make it all look easy.

We're looking 2019 LSU-esque

With a top NIL in the country, I think it's sustainable
I guess the point being that he said "regularly", not "ever". Thus we'll see.

I do not believe he is intimately connected to the situation — his point was more so that Florida is a place you can regularly compete for titles at. Ole Miss is not nor will it ever be that.

Hate Florida, but can’t really disagree.

I mean, the way this season is going, Kiffin will be competing for a title, so it's hard to say they'll never compete for a title. They have one of the best NIL in the country, which is what matters now.

I mean, define classless? Is classless playing the son of a vol qb legend late in the game when he may not ever get to play the game again? Is it classless to let your walk ons who were born and raised in small town Tennessee who dreamed of playing for this team get a chance to make a play under the lights in Neyland? Is it classless to give the other team the option to shorten the game and respect the decision they make regardless? If everything we do is negative no matter what to the national media, then we really gotta stop listening to the national media and just play ball

That was.... Perplexing. And really we just got lucky that the guy who was in perfect position to catch it totally whiffed.
I feel like that was an Ekeler call, not a Heupel call. You leave a massive hole in your front line and you're begging for that.

It wasn't a great kick. If it had taken a big hop I think we would've recovered it in the air. If we don't recover its a good opportunity to test the defense on a short field.
