I've never understood this line of thinking. If you make this their full time job, what do you think they'd do differently that they aren't doing today that would fix the bad officiating? What do you expect them to do for 40 hours a week in the offseason that would help fix the problem?Refs have been terrible for years, this year they’re on some next level stuff. It’ll never be “the only reason” a team loss, but at the same time refs can cost you a game. It’s happened before and it will continue to happen. You just have to make it way less common. There’s no excuses for the officiating to be as bad as it is in college football. Sport generates too much money, hire some people who’s full time job is this, and hold them accountable like any other profession in the world when they do their jobs poorly. It’s beyond time.
I’ll never forget him meeting Gurley in the hole and absolutely tattooing him. Then let him know about it while on top of him.I mean AJ had a 4 year NFL career, and his first 2 years he was a stud for Denver. Getting hurt pretty much did him in.
He wasn't an elite speed guy though ran 4.79 at his pro day but he was dismissed from the team and UT cut ties with him so who knows how/where he trained in the weeks leading up to that.
Dude was a baller and either he had epic IQ or some sort of physical talent... he was top 10 in the SEC in tackles his last 3 years here.
Also not sure I'd agree with the "everyone else was bad" narrative either, he was playing beside Jalen Reeves-Maybin, Ladarrell McNeil, & Curt Maggitt. But like most UT players from that era the ones that got better did so in the NFL with real coaching to support them
You clearly missed Mike Matthews & Brazzell last week. Mike is the most talented WR on the roster, and every bit as talented as the other true freshmen WRs around the nation that’s been putting on a show. He has pretty much forced Heup to roll out a four WR set. If you are scared of Squirrel getting behind your defense then guess what, #10 is about to have a field day on the other side. Once they start to fear #10, then #17 will get 1 on 1 coverage. Heup is a mad scientist.Read my mind, jake. Why I don’t think we hang 40 like everybody here expects is I don’t see a WR outside of Squirrel on the boundary on go routes that can just get separation. And Nico has been flirting with a pick on a comeback route. Heupel can scheme up someone open consistently but I do wonder if Nico has enough experience to process it.
