Recruiting Football Talk VIII

You didn't mention your son was married lol.

I don't know about "shouldn't." There is no God-given right for every single human alive to own a home in their 20's. It's a lot harder for our kids than it was for us, but it's still WAY easier for them than 95% of the world.

I don't know a whole lot of illegal immigrants who are buying $250k homes. I think it's more that people from expensive areas are finally realizing those expensive areas aren't worth it, and they're taking their massive windfalls from selling their homes and moving to lower cost areas, which drives the cost of living up there because they're brining their wealth with them. Prices go up any time you raise the money supply, and the local money supply goes up when people with lots of cash move to areas with less cash.
And locals get bent over...period.

Not really

I knew it wasn't as bad as the opponents claimed, but I had no idea the data was that different from the claims. I always like having my assumptions checked by reality, thanks for enlightening me.

My kids are the same. We fixed up an old building, made it really nice though (work in progress) on our property for he and his new wife. She's in med school so money's not flowing at an excessive rate. My daughter and her husband are both professionals, both have good jobs. They have over six figures saved up and can't find anything that they like in their price range. They're wanting acreage and it's unreal what acreage is bringing around Knoxville that is buildable not unusual to see $20-$30K per acre. That would be $2-$300K for a 10 acre plot.
We bought 5 acres (off Raccoon Valley) in 2019 for our "dream house". It's got 1 good build site now. It will take a whole lot of dirt moving and excavating to put 3 houses (we've got 2 kids) on it but I'm afraid that's what we're heading for. It sucks what's happened around our area since Covid and JB hit. The children of families that have lived here all their lives have been screwed over. That's why seeing videos about "Knoxville being a perfect place to live" burn me up. It was perfect.....5 years ago.

It interesting to me how many people move from a country or even a state because they hate what it’s become there… then bring the same culture and politics with them that turned their prior home into a hell hole anyways.
100%.....our culture is disappearing the more transplants move in.

Is everybody ready for the game?

Brothers and sisters I made it out with my MC and others to feed folks in need today along the Nolichucky in Jonesborough. I couldn’t believe the destruction and horrific stories I heard😪

Food Lion in JC gave all our food at cost (good on them) and we had everything from smoked meats to collards straight from smoker to plate or packed to go. The people giving right now of themselves is truly a blessing in our local communities. The thankful tears and hugs from those who were in need were genuine and heartfelt. I’m so proud to be from East Tennessee ❤️ we good people!! Gods’s country has a few scars, but I know the soul of me, mine, ,and my neighbors and we are strong and country folk will survive!

I’m so happy my Volnation family mostly came out ok. Y’all important in my life.

Now how ‘bout an orange britches 50 Burger to share on prime time Saturday night 🍊🔥🏈
