Recruiting Football Talk VIII

I'd love to read a tell-all from JG about his time at UT. I can't help but like him because of the beatings he took physically and mentally while he was here but he kept coming back week after week. He was the unfortunate QB who had to lead us through our darkest period in program history.
A fun "what if" would be to imagine what his production would have looked like under Heupel. Heupel would have made him a productive QB imo.

JG showed flashes on several occasions. He played well against Auburn in 2018, and was really effective against Mizzou in 2019. I think he had the tools but was missing the coaching.

Here's a "what if": October 14, 2017. Vols vs South Carolina in Neyland. Down 15-9 with 1:13 left, JG drove us down the field 73yds in 9 plays to the 2yd line. 3 consecutive pass plays were called, including the final play with 2 seconds left which was a good pass deflected by the SC DB. To this day I don't understand not giving the ball to John Kelly on the final play...

"What if" we had capped off that drive and JG had that signature game-winner early in his freshman campaign? 🤷🏼‍♂️

Vols (.684) lead the series 13-6. One-half of Arkie's wins are the 3 games played since 2012 against Dooley, Botch, and Cornpone. We only lost 3 times in the century from 1907 to 2007.

I hate these hog-breath bishes, too. This game will be B2A part 5. LFG! 🍊

I'm aware of all that! Which us why it's important to make things right!
