Recruiting Football Talk VIII

* @DeerPark12 discussing Kesling's possible replacement.

(Mississippi State's play by play man and someone I've suggested).....
Unless Mike has a change of heart, Neil Price is the guy, in all likelihood. He was around UT a lot this past summer getting to know the staff on-campus and some of the major corporate partners. He's a Learfield guy and passed on another pretty major job because he knew this one was coming open. If it's him, he'll get to help them select a football analyst and the football broadcast team. Pat won't be back.

Hamer will be the basketball analyst, he is doing most of the road games for Bert this season.

No idea how it'll affect the other sports and current broadcasters or if there will be hurt feelings there. Because it's a UT employee, they will open it up and have a semi-public search. But it will be a major shock if it's anyone other than Price.

I hate that Bertlekamp is stepping aside. He made Bob so much more exciting during basketball games

I wished our young people knew what it was like on a cool crisp fall Saturday, listening to John Ward when you weren’t at a place when you were lucky enough that the game was on. I’ve shared many times, listening to the game on the radio, while dad drove us up to the Smoky Mountains. Even to this day (I was 9) . I can still feel the warmth of the sun on my face through the that windshield of that late model ford. I didn’t care a lick or cared (Bill Battle was coach). I became a VOL fan for life at that moment. I want that for our younger Vol fans.

Tn is a right to work state. Contracts would be unenforceable.
Not true. That’s not what the definition of a “right to work state” is. I’m not a legal expert, but did some research on this, because GA is also a right to work state. I left my job of 16+ years for a multitude of reasons and wanted to know if my non-compete would be enforceable since I live in a right to work state. It is enforceable.

Anyone expecting more than 9-3 just likes to be upset
I expect more than 9-3. I always expect our Vols to win***.
I don’t like to be upset. I can compartmentalize and understand what happened.

***= except during the the dooley and pruitt years as well as a significant portion of the kiffin and butch debacles. Unfortunately, when Fulmer was coach, he almost always lost to a new SEC team. He lost big games against spurrier because spurrier was in his head. The year that spurrier went to the NFL was a mental breakout game for CPF.

During those years, it did kill me when the players would just throw in the towel. That’s the part that hurt. It was hard to root for players that didn’t Give My All For Tennessee Today.

I’m a VFL regardless of the win loss record.

When you get down after a loss. Just remember that when you wake up, you will still be a Tennessee Volunteer. That definitely means something.

Happy Friday

December 27, 2024: Set yourself to have a positive attitude as you forge ahead. Remember that God is with you every step of the way. You are never alone. Jesus is your very present help, that you can rely on. Psalm 46:1-3 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though its waters roar and be troubled, through the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah

If Texas Tech was getting funds from the CARTEL they would be undefeated. I call BS on this topic..🤣🤣🤣
Ive researched the **** out of the cartels since Narcos, snd subsequent shows, articles, and regional stories.

One thing is for sure. In terms of supply chain economics, Cartels are unmatched. They have trafficking, laundering, and operations down to an exact science. An organization that commands an industry from Austrailia to Canada, with profits potentially higher than Mexican Gov't.

i'd say Texas Tech would win all the games. TTU's HBC would live in an underground mansion in Texas Hills with multiple egresses. Have lions, bears, and hippos in backyard, with live action amusement park for kids.
