It wasn't a year but speaking bad days even worst days... I read an article yesterday that gave a single day in 1200s the most catastrophic day in human history tag. There was an earthquake in China that killed an estimated 830,000 (not a typo) making it the worst loss of life relative the worldwide human population that we've ever had. I thought those numbers unbelievable but apparently China lost around 650k to an earthquake in the 1970s as well.
