Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Unrelated but would you be interested to know that originally, Mel Gibson was set to play the role of John McClane in Die Hard... And Bruce Willis was set to play the role of Martin Riggs in Lethal Weapon.
I’ve gone down the rabbit hole looking at roles that actors turned down….. it’s pretty wild

It makes me mad at myself because I used to say I'd never take 8-4/9-3 for granted ever again when we were in the doldrums, and here I am taking it for granted.

Anything but 10-2 is underachieving this year. It’s okay to say that. Doesn’t mean 9-3 is gonna get anyone fired but it’s the double edge sword on how quickly Josh has turned this program around.

Just like idiots don't realize that Hooker was a freaking Junior!

To be fair, Hooker was in his 5th year of college when he came to UT.

2017 he used his Redshirt
2018 he played in 3 games with 0 starts
2019 he played in 10 and started 9
2020 he played in 8 and started 7

And that much time in college is a huge help especially since it was in the ACC.

My ONLY complaint a bit with Heupel in his time here was that I felt like he should have started Hooker from the beginning. Will probably never know the real reason it took Joe getting hurt before we got Hooker starting. But Heupel showed he was smart enough to realize the mistake, cause once we saw what Hendo could do he didn't yo-yo between him and Joe like Lyle did with Dobbs for so long.

Man, of all the guys on the team that are itching to get back on the field and prove something...Heard better be at the forefront. That guy put out some less-than-stellar film last game and has got a lot of negative press. If he doesn't come out and wreck some d-linemen, then he never will.
