That happens at Neyland, maybe a few will charge the field and beat the crap out of some officials. Reality wise, I would like to see a player just happen to run the crap over an official a few times if they are not calling it straight. However, last night we did hold a few times but no way they did not at all. Ours were not blatant either. Maybe the refs are just poor but it's hard to imagine these numbers.Sneaking past Beamer-the-Steamer on the final play of the game -- after losing to Vandy, you mean? No biggie. We just need to beat Bama.
We know from last year that we can shut Milroe down. But if Bama's OL is allowed to hold every down in the second half, Milroe is a passing threat. In our first three trips to the redzone last year, we had a mysterious holding call to hold us to a FG in one and an egregious DPI no-call on another to make us settle for another FG.
Not saying there's an actual conspiracy with the holding calls
BUT IT WOULD BE NICE TO GET ONE F'N CALL ON OUR OPPONENTS
ONE!!!!!!!
Not just holds, but critical live ball penalties. Next to zero for TWO SEASONS.
Yet we had two positive Nico runs taken away just last night. When was the last time a hold was called on an opponent period? And when on a critical 3rd down?

NOT A SINGLE ONE. Not one scrambling penalty in any of those games and not a single drive killing hold called. It's a game altering thing. How much better does Nico play if they don't call those runs back? What if they actually called a hold on Florida at any point? Offense does much better and our defense absolutely feasts.
Please give us ONE holding penalty against Bama. PLEASE.
Seemed like we did a good job coming out against UF, until the fumbled exchange. Looked like Nico took that as very deflating and we never really looked crisp on offense after that.Im not a golfer, but I get what you’re saying. It is super important these next few weeks to call plays to get nico rolling and try to hide the ol weaknesses
How dare anyone have a voice/opinion on this board.
I posted earlier that I thought lagway looked better than Nico. We have a problem with our tackles and Nicos confidence. I'm looking for Nico to turn the corner and know he has the talent. He also seems to have the maturity. Not gonna lie. I fully expect to lose next week. I expect to be frustrated by the refs over calls and non-calls. I expect to be frustrated by our OL again. I expect to be frustrated by Nico making freshman mistakes. Maybe if I go in expecting those things, I won't be quite as upset when they happen.
The truth is, we've all seen the officiating is not going to change. We will get screwed. And Nico is a RS-FR, so making those mistakes are all part of his learning process. So that just leaves the OL. Can it be fixed? I hope so, otherwise, we're going to lose more games than just next week. With all the returning experience, I honestly thought the OL would be a strength this year.
I kept thinking of the Dlineman who injured his chest/shoulder against Air Force and played against Florida the next week before having season ending surgery (for the life of me, I can’t remember his name - McDaniel?). Guys giving their all because they want to beat Florida.I'm not going to dump on Squirrel too much for now, he was a warrior tonight. His arm was literally just dangling there between plays. He gave his all for Tennessee when he didn't have to, especially in this era.
I’m sure they all do from time to time, and when they get hit like he did , they may not be as effective after.so no other wr in the sec get thrown to in traffic? maybe we arent shedding blocks, and working off contact well enough?
Correct. Nico seeing them in a timely manner and being accurate more often is the problem. Hopefully, just growing pains. Heup's calls in OT looked more like what needs to happen until the game slows down for him.WR’s are open. That is not really the problem. I must be watching something different.
The second two are direct results of the first.I’m sure they all do from time to time, and when they get hit like he did , they may not be as effective after.
I know one thing, we might not have the best WR’s in the league but when it comes to offensive problems , they are well below the OL, QB and Predictable playcalling we get to often.
