Recruiting Football Talk VIII

So happy this is Bama.

Alabama football captain Tyler Booker is doing all in his power not to let the season slip away.

Co-offensive coordinator JaMarcus Shephard shared praised about Booker on Wednesday.
“More than anything else, I think I was most impressed by Booker,” Shephard said about practice this week. “Booker had a fire in him this week. He is all over every single player on this team’s rear end, every single play. Getting in their face. Pushing the tempo, the envelope with each one of them. Telling them, ‘Hey this is the expectation. I’m not going to tell you this over and over again. You’re going to do it the right way or get out.’ I love that about our left guard.”
“Oh man, these guys are on fire,” Shephard said. “They’re freaking flying around. They’re taking to their hard coaching. That’s how we always are. They’re taking to it.”

The speakers in the stadium amplify the announcer, refs, band, and music just so you can hear them at all. So he’s right about amplification but he’s implying that the fans noise is also being amplified. They’d have to ask him directly if he thinks the fan noise is amped through the speakers and see if he squirms.
If they amplified my wife everybody’s brains would be mush and souls would be rent from their corporal dwelling.

I am legend falls under zombie which definitely fits IMO. 28 days later goated in that category
I Am Legend should have stuck with source material. The book was way scarier and psychological, and MUCH better. I enjoyed the movie, but it doesn't hold a candle to the book. In the book, the vampires could talk, and tormented the hell out of Neville at night...talking and whispering to him, trying to break him into letting them in.

28 Days Later is a classic.

Believe it or not, it’s hard to get sacks when you are being double teamed and/or held. The fact he is able to get 22% pressure percent while being held all the time is insane
JP couldn’t do more damage if he had a SAW (squad automatic weapon aka machine gun). Godzilla does less damage.

OK.... 30 years ago.... Sure.... 😜 We know speakers didn't exist back when you were in the band.
They existed. We didn't use them. Not sure when they started using them, I just know there were NOT used when I was there. You can believe what you want, but I know what I know.

I haven’t yet read the book but I was not a huge fan of I am legend. I was also super young when it came out but even then baby boy had taste 😎🤓
It was an alright movie, not bad, with some really good parts; but, yeah, that book is GOATed, especially in vampire fiction. As I said, it's more psychological than horror, although the horror of what is happening is very intense.

So, how do you hear the official and the PA announcer in any other stadium? Do you just not hear them in Bryant Denny Stadium? I know, it's rhetorical.

I just don't understand what he thinks they do at other places.
At Vandy they have those cone thingies like the cheerleaders.

A Quiet Place
I Am Legend
World War Z
Alien

*We don't watch a lot of scary/horror movies. I guess 'I Am Legend' is one of my favorite scary style movies.

Signs is a good one too but it's more suspensful.

What time are you wanting us to come over??? We'll be good.... we promise
Unfortunately, yetis are very good at tracking possums. I can't take that risk.

Yeah, the book is way, way better than the movie. The movie completely butchered the ending, for one.
