Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Auburn offense and defense has been putting up good numbers. It's just a matter of time before they start winning with those numbers. If last week is an indication, they may have put a couple more things together. I would stay away from betting that game because of that. . . they should've won more than they have, but we don't know if they have turned the corner or not. . . it could really go either way.
I think Auburn is cursed, the Curse of Hugh Freeze. They have to sacrifice him pre-game and let the eagle eat his eyes and Mike the Tiger the rest, that will lift the curse.

No I am not changing my mind. Like I said, the secondary has been our main weakness ever since Heupel got here. Disagree if you like bu that’s a fact. McCoy is a transfer. He wasn’t some walk on or unknown. He was a good starter his freshman year. Let’s not act like Martinez recruited him. He didn’t.

Also, it’s been said many times how dominant our front 7 has been and how that makes the secondary look great. Also, like I said, I would expect a guy who has coached over 30 years to have sent many guys to the NFL. Comparing him to Garner? 😂😂😂. So the only way Martinez has improved is to get more talented guys and Garners group improving. Funny how Garner took the guys he had and developed them. The excuse for Martinez has constantly been, oh he doesn’t have the talent. Yeah that’s a pathetic excuse.

Carry water for Martinez all you want. I wont. I believe we would have been much better off if it’s a more elite CB coach.
Let me let you in on a little secret Sunshine, the secondary is not a weakness this season. We have one of the best secondaries in the country. Two lockdown corners and everybody else ain't shabby.

Gerald Mincey out for Tennessee game. "Strained labia."

I really don't see what's so funny. Strained labia makes perfect sense. That's nothing to fool around with if he played Saturday it would most definitely have been aggravated further and it is likely he would sustain serious injury.
Any o-lineman going against our d-line better be 100% healthy, particular as far as labia are concerned.

How we stack up in the SEC

9th in SEC in completion % given up
4th in SEC in passing yards allowed
2nd in SEC in passing TDs allowed
13th in SEC in INTs
15th in SEC in sacks by

So a very strong secondary this season, bold is the two main areas we could improve.

I live in a world of stats and I know they can be misleading and don't paint the whole picture. I know what I see and the most glaring thing that stands out to me is that when other teams get in the red zone they don't score or maybe kick a field goal.
I don't think is far fetched to say that I don't think Kentucky will score Saturday. Bad, bad matchup for them.
I feel like broken record and I don't know a lot but that defense is nasty. '85 Bears nasty, Alabama 2011 nasty.

We need to put an absolute beatdown on KY. I hope our guys are focused. I think they will be. If they hear about all the KY poor-mouthing, I hope it just pisses our team off.

I wonder if Lube U will be stupid enough to block our tunnel as we come on to the field like they did last year? If so, stay calm. Don't get anyone ejected. But the officials need to flag those bishes if they try it again. WGWTFA.
I don't think the Mildcats should fret themselves with our tunnel. The need to worry about protecting their own tunnel from us running into it and right out their damn mouths. Talk about a strained labia. WGWTFA.

I don't see Vandy going on the road and having success. All 3 of their best games (Bama Texas VA tech) were at home. However auburn is bad enough that I'm not touching that game.

I don’t blame you…when it comes to this i usually look at previous games…so was it a blow out?..will the coach be able to get them up for this game?…was it close and has the team focused this week?..things like that.. Auburn just beat Kentucky and vandy is coming off a nail biter with Texas..so does vandy believe or are they beat up after a hard fought game?…is auburn high off the W?…dicey.😁
