Recruiting Football Talk VIII

I’m fortunate- retired last year at 53 and have lifetime 100%medical and dental. My girl is also retired with the same benefits. We’d be traveling in style if/when I hit one ☝🏻

I am jealous. I’m mid 40s and have been saving/investing aggressively since early 20s and still don’t feel like I’ll be able to retire early. Getting out of the race by mid-50s is a dream.

I just think Kentucky is about to get a proper beating...

We've scored 21 or more in 6 of 7 games against better defenses.
We've held every opponent to less than 20 and 5 of them are better offenses than Kentucky.

I don't think this is a "run it up" game or anything, but I think even if we're rolling Heupel is going to keep starters in to keep working through growing pains that require experience.

How we stack up in the SEC

9th in SEC in completion % given up
4th in SEC in passing yards allowed
2nd in SEC in passing TDs allowed
13th in SEC in INTs
15th in SEC in sacks by

So a very strong secondary this season, bold is the two main areas we could improve.
The sacks thing is a weird anomaly that only makes sense if you actually have any powers of observation whatsoever and realize why...teams are rarely calling lengthy developing passing plays against us and when they do , they usually are in max protect.

Nevertheless, despite them doing that...we still constantly get intense pressure on opposing QBs. I think our pressure rate is one of the highest in the SEC.

If Nico just hits open recivers at a higher rate...this will be a blowout, if he doesn't, we will remain in the 20s.

It really is that simple...if he had hit open receivers we would have annihilated Arky, UF and Bama by several scores...would have been in the high 30s or 40s in all of those games.

31-3 Vols on Saturday. I expect Kentucky’s defense to be stingy early, but as the game wears on, Cats run out of gas and Vols put on more steam.

However, if Tennessee comes out hot and puts a couple of early touchdowns on the board, I wouldn’t be shocked if this ended up being a six or seven touchdown win. This Kentucky team has all the signs of a team ready to pack it in if things go bad early.

Yeah, as others pointed out teams are changing their entire offense to deal with our DL. That's how you know we're elite.

I wish I could find a good site that tracks pressure rate...I've not got the time myself to go through every snap we've played but watching the games we're absolutely generating more pressure than most on QBs.

I can't remember which YT guy it was, but one of them posted that pressure rate stat a couple of weeks ago.
