Recruiting Football Talk VIII

I’m making the drive from Memphis to Knoxville next Friday for the Miss St game. How are the fall colors in middle and East TN? It’s only partial on the west side of the state. I’d like to see some near peak colors on my drive next weekend.
Past the peak in Knoxville.

Are we pulling for PSU??? Which loss helps us more?
I posted an article earlier that claims psu is better for us because even if they lose they are likely a playoff team whereas osu with a loss could end this season as a 2 loss team with their remaining games and I guess the more teams sitting at 10-2 instead of 11-1 the better for us.

I would be willing to bet that the loser of the OSU/Penn State will be ranked in front of us.
Doubt it if OSU is the loser. With 2 losses will drop to 8-10. PSU, yes they could keep afloat with a close loss.

Some chance 1 of Oregon, UGA, and Miami loses as well.

Not that any of it matters. The real poll comes out Tuesday. We just need to beat UK...Miss St...Vandy. Take care of business. The rest will take care of itself.

I have a hard time seeing either being left out unless they lose more after this.

Oregon, PSU, OSU feel like they'll be in, outside of one of them ending with 3 losses.

I don’t think Penn State should even be a university anymore. A decades long cover up of child molestation. Those doors should be permanently closed
Have you considered writing the PA governor a strongly-worded letter?

(Paterno also had a serial rapist/killer for a couple years before finally dismissing him for anger issues and rape allegations - he later got convicted for multiple murders in NY and PA)

Do you guys think we’ll start to see more aggressive tempo from Heup now that other team is sure to be penalized for faking injuries?
It's only a monetary penalty, right? And will have to go through post-game week scrutiny I assume.

I'm guessing it slows down faking injuries, but not completely.

Hope we keep the tempo up regardless. We seemed to be running it well 2H vs Bama. Obviously not easy on an inexperienced QB and the OL, but we seem to be dialing it in and maybe Hype has more confidence in us to do it at a high level now 7 games in.

It's a critical part of our advantage, so let's hope so.

As I read it, the third offense is a suspension “for all coaches involved” including the head coach.

Getting suspended for a game after a 3rd fake is pretty stout. I think it'll slow down the faking quite a bit, and cosches will have to take out a player for a lot of plays to build a case for it being an actual injury.

It won’t be as rampant. The worst offenders will get as close to that line without crossing when it comes to the offense that brings a suspension.
