Recruiting Football Talk VIII

@drylo, can you make us a gif of the Kentucky player raising his arm to go out of the game, looks to the sideline, and then does a sommersault in the middle of the field and grabs one of his legs? It's a classic. It's at 38:50 on Freak's video: #1. Or, if you use a different video, you can find it when the clock stops at 1:15 in the 1st quarter.

I hope Neyland goes crazy cheering next time Max comes out for a FG.
I'm not giving up on him. The two 50+ yarders he missed against Bama were close, good kicks...he just had a miserable night tonight. He's been pretty good for us so far, and I think he bounces back. If it follows him into next week, it's a problem.

Based on all predictions post-today,

Expect us to be 8th-10th first ranking. Would include autobids, which are still stupid. So not a normal ranking or even power ranking.

Disagree. I think we'll be ranked higher by the committee than the AP has had us. The playoff committee has historically valued quality wins over preseason hype. A team like Texas is ranked ahead of us by the AP because they came into the year with more hype. But if you look at their schedule they've beaten nobody. While our win over Alabama looks better by the day as Vanderbilt and Georgia keep winning. We'll probably also be ranked ahead of Penn State after their loss today. They too have beaten nobody.

I think we'll be ranked 5th after Oregon, Georgia, Miami, and Ohio State. We'll be the third highest ranked 1-loss team after Georgia and Ohio State.

I’m not exaggerating when I say this: we will be the best team in the nation if we can consistently play first halves like we typically do under Heup.
We can be if we just execute the plays that are there. And honestly, we aren’t even opening the playbook.
