Eh, I understand the sentiment. But the announcers get paid to discuss the narrativesI really disliked the long discussion by the announcers about the possibility of Tennessee missing the cut because Nico might be out / injured player. It's just bs. First, they don't know he's out. Second, they don't know we don't beat Georgia anyway.
But, third, and most important by far: They are encouraging what I have always resisted. Fans as a result are incentivized to root for other teams' players (not just to lose) but to be seriously injured. Are we supposed to root for an injury to Milroe? Is that what they want? I'd rather just beat him like we already did.
The QB of the #7 team in the country is a pretty big story and narrative.
Fans are gonna do what fans do, like they did before the CFP committee. Not sure that’s really germane.
