Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Why not use the BCS , CFP , coaches poll and AP . Take out the high and low score like the Olympics. WGWTFA GBO 💥 🍊
I say use vegas and the bookmakers and play it tourney style. It is all analytics now anyway.

Pick 5 most predictive bookmakers (run a competition)

Each week a top 25 is generated based on an average of the head to head odds predictions.

Each time and oddsmaker was closer to the outcomes their weighted percentage goes up, but it self adjusts week to week.

The beauty with this is you are using market forces and competition to drive results and not people and agendas. No more hiding behind paper tiger records.

Pick the final 16 at the close of the year and start playing worst to first.

16 v 1
15 v 2
Etc

Who the hell is GASPIPE?🧐

Anthony Salvatore Casso (May 21, 1942 – December 15, 2020), nicknamed "Gaspipe", was an American mobster and underboss of the Lucchese crime family. During his career in organized crime, he was regarded as a "homicidal maniac"[1] in the Italian-American Mafia. Casso is suspected of having committed dozens of murders, and had confessed to involvement in between 15 and 36 murders.[2][3]
Do NOT mess with Gaspipe!

I think we absolutely have the right guy.

Here’s a nice thought experiment: Take your pick of any FB coach we’ve had in the last 50 years and have them coach this weekend for us.

Now, are you more or less confident?

Personally, I can’t name a single one I’d rather have more than Heupel.

Fulmer is really the only one close and he was a better recruiter than game coach. Here's their career winning %s. If you compare where the program was when Heupel took it over to where it was when Fulmer took it over it's shocking Heupel's winning % is about the same as Fulmer's.

Heupel 75% (73% at Tennessee)
Fulmer 74.5%
Kiffin 67% (54% at Tennessee)
Majors 57% (65% at Tennessee)
Jones 57% (56% at Tennessee)
Pruitt 46%
Dooley 44% (42% at Tennessee)

Dude can coach.

It seems kinda fishy to me. I think the Nico being injured is being played. I have heard some really crazy stuff about what seems be a not that big of a deal injury. Seizure in the locker room, he is unable to walk very well, he's practically blind, nutty stuff. The native is now that surely Nico will not play.
With Georgia looking so bad, if Nico is healthy this is at least an even game and we would probably be favored. If he's out that would swing it to Georgia. I wonder if that junk was being floated early to drive the money.
If it ends up he's rumored to be playing on Saturday afternoon or there's a game time decision for him to play... I'm thinking sucker bet. I say keep a close eye on Heup's friends that like to bet and what is being placed at noon on Sat.
Heck, we'd beat Georgia even with Nico playing 'practically blind'.

There’s literally video of him walking normally on his own post-game. Towel over his head.

Saturday— He threw up after the hard tackle. He was held out.
Sunday— Tests and evaluation.
Monday— Attended meetings. Dressed. Threw routes.
Tuesday— At practice. Did not practice.
Wednesday— At practice. In pads. Threw. Practiced with team for closed practice.

It’s definitely trending in the right direction.
Isn't he an insider?

That’s also exactly what a team should not touch him. Too much drama and a potential cancer.
Fire CBC and hire Deion. I'm kinda joking, but starting to see the benefit.

This organization (Titans) has never developed a QB. NEVER.
McNair was drafted as an Oiler.

Do something completely different.
It can't be worse than it is now.

Costanza approach. Do the opposite of whatever their instincts tell them. I don’t hate it. It’s worth a shot, honestly.

#7....I used to think that media wasn't biased against UT, but I really think they are now in several ways. I just do not understand how that is the case.

We bring eyes on whatever we do, which is money. Our games have high ratings, we are in the SEC, have a likeable head coach, had been down for sooo long but it doesn't matter.

Why are we hated so much? I mean I can think of some things that have pissed the media off but good grief. We had a bad loss to Arkansas. We haven't looked great at times, but we have freaking won! Other teams have had bad losses too or haven't beaten anyone!
"Da mejeeah" has us ranked 6th.

Only the SID's poll has us ranked higher.

The traditional polls and humans love us, comparitively to uninterested computer model rankings.
