Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Good lord these media jaw-flappers…

Out of Pocket, A Lang and R Cobb, “what does Georgia have do to beat Tennessee”?

Not one iota of looking at the game from the other perspective of “what does UT need to do to win”. No love.

Sounds skeptical of UGA, like they expect us to win 👀

Good news heard?

I think the easiest fix is ACC, BIG, SEC, and Big 12 conference champs get automatic bids and the runner ups get in (that’s 8 total). Then you do the next 4 out based on AP polling, which everyone typically accepts. Theres your 12. That way, winning matters as does SOS.

That's worse than the current system. Why would the second place Big 12 or ACC team deserve a spot ahead of a 10-2 Ole Miss or Tennessee? You would basically be saying Colorado and SMU are better than Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and Ole Miss. A totally ridiculous proposition considering all four of those teams would be huge favorites on a neutral field against those teams.

Because you’re awarding winning and results on the field. It’s much better than a bunch of people sitting around the table using subjective reasoning and ticket sales to determine the results.

Every system will suck until they do like (gasp) every pro sports league in the known world does and have a systematic process for determining the postseason.

First need to come up with an even set of conferences...split by divisions...then let x teams from each division in. Playoff ensues naturally from there.

It doesn't have to be this complicated, but college sports have no leader and the inmates (Sankey, etc) are running the crazyhouse while juicing their own pockets.

It's absolutely wild and stupid.
