I think the easiest fix is ACC, BIG, SEC, and Big 12 conference champs get automatic bids and the runner ups get in (that’s 8 total). Then you do the next 4 out based on AP polling, which everyone typically accepts. Theres your 12. That way, winning matters as does SOS.
Because you’re awarding winning and results on the field. It’s much better than a bunch of people sitting around the table using subjective reasoning and ticket sales to determine the results.That's worse than the current system. Why would the second place Big 12 or ACC team deserve a spot ahead of a 10-2 Ole Miss or Tennessee? You would basically be saying Colorado and SMU are better than Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and Ole Miss. A totally ridiculous proposition considering all four of those teams would be huge favorites on a neutral field against those teams.
