Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Probably a bad take on my part but I’m going to ask the crowd. I feel like when we had an AD like Doug Dickey, he was highly influential and connected. It feels like the officiating woes we continually see happen to our teams amped by this ridiculous, undeserved first team out, I feel like an AD like Dickey would have nipped this narrative quickly.

Danny White has knocked it out of the park so far internally, it does feel however he isn’t respected in this good ole boy circle of college football.

Just venting and probably a bad take, I just have a hard time accepting the obvious. It felt like under Dickeys watch we were in the circle. Feels like crap being on the outside looking in.

11th is a good spot…

Army has to face Notre Dame & Tulane still, so even if they win out and get in that’ll likely mean ND is out.

Ohio State and Indiana have to play head to head and then the winner will have to play Oregon in championship game, so good chance at least 1 BIG 10 team will be dropped.

Feel like if we win out we will be in, of course a few teams ahead of us could also lose and change where we end up. Still would like to see teams ahead of us lose.

Actually, I think you're absolutely right. It's a bad take.

I’m not sure how many listened to Pate’s podcast from Sunday.

His theory is that the SEC is in a wait and see approach with how this committee sets the playoff. He believes if Sankey feels that one “deserving” SEC program is wronged, he will form his own playoff and super league and move away from the current CFB structure.

I’m with you. I think someone hacked his account.
He wears on people’s nerves because he loves to hear himself talk, but he’s had our backs more than once over the years. He defended the fans torpedoing Schiano and also pointed out the hypocrisy of our fan base getting blasted by the national media over Lane Kiffin mustard gate while other programs in other geographical regions have had similar issues with nowhere near the outcry from the talking heads. He’s was right about those things, and he’s right about this. He’s still annoying to listen to though.

LMAO at this point... the committee clearly does not want us in. They clearly want their bama, ga, nd, Indiana Cinderella, and ohst in. No math justifies us being so far behind them at this point...We are not getting into the playoff, so quit debating with the "what if's"... we are going bowling, because ..... TN. We straight F'd ourselves 'ishing the bed at Arky and it has knocked us out of the playoff. It's all the justification this corrupt committee needed, along with Sankey's blessing. Anyone who thinks Sankey gives a rip about TN, no one can help you at this point, can't fix stupid.
Maybe Heup and staff will learn from this and not be taking their foot off the pedal at any point next season, learn how to adjust their game plan DURING games, learn how to develop our Oline and WR's, and keep building depth.
Otherwise, next season, wash, rinse, repeat.

Ohio State will look like **** against Indiana this weekend and it will be up being 27-24 or 31-24, something like that.

They will be impressed by Indiana and keep them in front of us….knowing our luck.

We have no hope unless Ole Miss, Bama, or UGA lose again. I guess ND as well.
If army beats ND they move to 10 in front of us

Dickey knew where bodies were buried. DW has yet to amass that influence. I would settle for him being more vocal in public about the deck being stacked against us, fines be damned.
