Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Is the consequence of yesterday that the SEC will only have 3 teams in the playoff?

Texas 10-1
Georgia 9-2
Tennessee 9-2
Assuming TAMU doesn't pull off the miracle of the century by beating Texas and UGA in b2b games...

USCjr can beat Clemson to get in.

Otherwise I think Ole Miss gets in.

Very good post.

These are the narratives that Knoxville/Vol media should be pushing; and, I'm not talking about 1 or 2 tweets, maybe an article...every single writer in that town or close by should be in harmony shouting it, along with calling out those who pushed and pushed: "bad loss, Arkansas...Oklahoma, Florida, Bama wins, no big deal".
Blake Toppemeyer is too busy being on Adams jock to do much of anything

Wes Rucker has been pushing for us over IU in the way that a local media guy should. Our local media acts like they want to be buddies with Pat Forde and Dan Wolken most of the time.

Great day for Vols fans yesterday with the win and the losses by other SEC teams.

I understand that someone doesn't like the Heather Dinich quotes but last night on Sportscenter she dropped her projected field come Tuesday Night.

Dinich as of now has Tennessee at #9 but that will change with a win next week, probably tops out at #7 or no worse than #8 imo.

Dinich also had Indiana still in the CFP at #11 the losses by all Mississippi,TAMU and Alabama kept the Hoosiers in the Playoffs in her opinion.

SMU and Miami both are in her bracket Miami at #3 as conference champions and SMU at #10 that could change next week or after conference Championship game.

Alabama rolls in as the first team out due to the fact that the Big 12 Champion will get the #12 spot right now as 5th highest conference champions. Arizona State is in that spot.

Boise State still hanging onto the #4 spot and last bye in 1st round.

In the end is the big debate over putting a 3 loss SEC team in over a 2 loss team
Getting a home game in the first round is massive for us. If we can, no more road games and I really like our chances.

That's how it should look TOMORROW, if everyone moves up in tandem and IU is left behind us.

And yet just as meaningless as being "paired with" Indiana a couple weeks ago.

2 weekends of games left, none of it is real rn. UGA gtd to go to Atlanta, alone, means a lot will change. Along with about a dozen other games.
Tech plays UGA in Athens.

Am surprised ND didn't jump PSU. ND looked utterly dominant in a ranked game. PSU was lucky to escape big bad Minnesota...

Now we hope USC does to ND next week what they nearly did to PSU midseason. Traveling all the way to the coast ain't easy
Nd and OSU looked dominant against paper tiger ranked teams

Is Ryan Williams (17 yrs old I think) the youngest college player to ever have a TD called back by a "phantom" penalty? 🤔 🤔;)
We both know that wouldn't have changed the outcome but the Bammers will be crying about that call on the Finebaum show tomorrow..

Can't wait too here Legend and his rant about DeBoer..

Bill Napier (Billy’s dad) was the OC my junior and senior year at Livingston Academy. 1980-1981. Billy was a toddler at the time about 1 year old in 1981. I believe the Napiers actually lived in Cookeville. ( about 20 miles from Livingston). Several of my female classmates actually babysat little Billy at the time.

The dad (Bill) was a great guy also. He played football at Celina when he was in high school. He moved his family to Georgia after he got a head coaching HS job soon after I graduated high school

It’s hard for me to root against Florida will Billy there. But I still manage to.
Team I coached was in Region with Bill when Billy was playing QB. Good folks. Bill passed from ALS several years ago.

My guess is that it was a blowout and we need him healthy next week? Lewis is good, but missed a couple of blitzes.

I would have liked to see us give Sampson a few more carries in the red zone, at least one of the TDs that Lewis got to really obliterate UT and maybe SEC TD records. But, I also understand that the staff knows DSamp is leaving and want to build PLew and Seldon's confidence for the rest of the season and next year.

Also, it's not like Sampson Sampson didn't benefit multiple times the last two years from Wright or a WR getting the ball near the goal line and Sampson finishing the drive. Eric Cain has even joked about Sampson being a TD vulture in the past but he had earned every TD he has ever been the beneficiary of with staying in the program and working his ass off this year to be the focal point of the offense.

Holy crap!

My weirdest trip ever I had left a group of friends because I got paranoid and drive home. I stopped in the driveway because I looked at the sky and saw a massive red spiderweb with what looked like spiders with lasers ............

It makes sense now!

This was shrooms, I left my friends because I had an epiphany, I left my body and zoomed out of our solar system and noticed the similarity between atoms and solar systems, galaxies etc. In my mind I figured out the sim and was convinced of my friends found out the government would know and take me away to study how I figured it out.

Was a crappy night.

I preferred paper, microdot, gel or cubes. Had some really good nights on sugar cubes and X.

Lol, great story and probably a lot of truth to your epiphany....except for the paranoia about your friends, lol.
