You’re right, though, about the HS guys he’s recruited. At some point, that has to change. The 2024 and 2025 OL signing classes are significant improvements from the prior 3 OL classes…if Sanders sticks.

Agreed.. And to your point in the last two classes, nobody talks about that when discussing cge. Even without Sanders, the last 2 classes look to be overall improvement, at base talent/measurable levels.

So to me the criticism on his HS classes and lack of development are more TBD. The initial problem we had with the o line when they got here was we had no depth. So we've had to go to the portal to supplement with experience so the younger guys had time to develop. We're in better shape there now, but not completely out of the woods yet.

So I think it's a little premature to say he's THE problem. that also doesn't mean he's not either. There's just more to it imo... So I'm willing to give the benefit of doubt.

2 things I've said several times when discussing the o line...
1. The run game, blocking schemes etc have all been very good. And it's hard to argue with the results we've seen from the run game since this staff has been here.
2. Pass protection needs work. Too many holding penalties and our QBs don't get as many clean pockets as they should. Part of that gets fixed with overall upgrades in talent.

Nailed it on 1 & 2.

I’m not qualified to say this with authority, but is it possible that the run blocking is better because it’s more easily “schemed,” but pass protection requires more natural ability?

😂 That was a huge dumb mistake the “smart” team made in Neyland a different year, if I remember right. Someone here will remember.

I seem to remember seeing the commode doors making the huge dumb mistake of trying to start some shoving as we came out of our tunnel one yearly. Might have been part of the same logo-stomping fool thing they regretted.

1994 was our greatest margin of victory (64 points) so far!

I've used thousand Island depressing instead of mayo in egg mixture before.
