Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Purest baseball is on, the LLWS these kids aren't worried about money or have egos. They just want to win.

Have Neyland hot dogs suddenly gotten bad in the last 20 years? Admittedly, it's been a long time since health allowed me to go to a game, but I remember Neyland hot dogs being delicious. Why would you try and fix something not broke? Were you the "brains" behind New Coke?
Back in the late 1950s, Smokey mountain hot dogs were the best around. They would stay open until midnight to serve the late night crowd and were delicious.

I just can’t see the reasoning on why Kiffin is talked about so much around here considering the positive direction Heupel has this program heading?

He’s an ok HC but lots of folks around here hype him up as the next “Best thing” when reality, he’s been nothing but a man child stirring up drama everywhere he’s been. Like, what’s the appeal?

He’s been gone for over 10+ years now and we still have posters making threads about him. Do you think it’s past time we’ve moved on from the guy?

It’s comical at this point.
Oh I’m over it. I could be fine with never hearing his name again. This kid is going to Ole Miss so of course Kiffin is going to come up.

Rope-a-doping on arguments is what I was referencing. Original context of this discussion was “allowing” talent to leave the state. When his Canadian back-story was brought up you resorted to his physical makeup. Basically build a wall around this state so even VISITORS can’t get out? 🤔
Ahh oh okay 👍.

We gotta lock the state down for sure.

To be fair, Hooker was always thought of as talented. He was a 4**** QB out of high school who had an up and down career at VA Tech. He was brought in by Cheney/Pruitt to start, but more as a bridge until they were comfortable with Bailey (not all that comforting of a thought) or Kaiden Salter was on campus.

Thankfully, things turned out differently with Heupel coming to town.
Honestly, Hooker would have gotten better under Chaney!

He would have saved Pruitt for 2 more years, and who knows what would have happened after that.

The prosperity stuff has always confused me, considering Jesus was basically an ascetic.

If the goal is to be christlike, it seems counterintuitive. Not saying earning a living is bad at all ofc and it can even help to help others, but obsessing over it above all else or believing it will help you get that camel through the needle's eye is just wild for an actual follower of Jesus.
That garbage is false teaching.
