Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Well that was a pretty tame weekend. Only OSU losing ahead (that matters, since Miami is moot) of us. Probably still need more help next weekend.

But all that really matters is we're getting our time. Time to rest up, stay healthy, go execute whoever we face.

Exciting times! Soak it in.
USC really shat the bed. They had it in their grasps

Is Miami losing moot if SMU wins the ACC title game? Seems Miami would be out and we move up then.

This is what I think the top 15 looks like Tuesday. Which means UT hosts and Bama is in if Smu beats Clemson

Oregon
Texas
PSU
ND
Uga
UT
Smu
Osu
Indiana
Bsu
Alabama
Miami
Ole Miss
Scar
ASU

Well we hosting for sure now boys

I'm still thinking a big UGA loss in Atlanta is easiest path. Or maybe PSU getting steamrolled. Hey, maybe we get boosted ahead this week, but I doubt it personally. I think we could deserve to be ahead of OSU, but I have to see it to believe it lol

My seeding guess what the committee will do this week is:

1) Oregon
2) Texas
3) SMU
4) Boise St
5) ND
6) PSU
7) OSU
8) UGA
9) TN
10) Miami
11) Indiana
12) Arizona St

Yes, SMU would jump us in the bracket even if they were behind us in the rankings due to being a conference champion.

I’m expecting us to be in the same spot Tuesday with us projected to go to Columbus instead of Athens.

I think I have the above right but somebody correct me if I’m wrong.

Don’t think it impacts our seeding (we are already ahead of SMU which will replace Miami’s top four seed) but it does probably make it likely that only one ACC team gets into playoff.

1-4 is right.
5. Penn State
6. Notre Dame
7. Georgia
8. Tennessee

Georgia fell 10 spots after their road loss to Ole Miss. feel like they’ll drop them just as much for a home loss against a bad Michigan team.

Can't help but feel Dabo is all but done now. Just a matter of time.
A lot of successful coaches are having the clock run out on them.

Gundy
Stoops
Dabo
Day
Whittingham

The next two years are going to be wild in the coaching carousel. I think we're going to enter an NFL type era where a lot of retread hires happen simply because ADs will be too gun shy to hire all the unproven candidates that will be out there. There's never been a worse time to be coach shopping.

The two up to date projections I’ve seen have us at 8 and OSU at 9…..meaning we would host OSU.

Now what we don’t need is TAMU and Clemson winning the conference championship games. Them winning the bye would possibly push us back and keep us from hosting
Don't think Clemson matters(?)

Either clemson or smu has to take a top 4 spot and neither is ahead of us right now/will be ahead of us after a loss.

I say flip ND & PSU, but they'll keep PSU at 5, despite the poor showing(s), for ratings & bc the committee loves some b10+8
