This is so true. With the 12 team playoff, conference championships are obsolete. Should go back back to the old days of regular season champs and that’s it, which would be Texas in the SEC this year. This is what happy when a PAC team is playing a Conference Championship in the Midwest. Generally, CFB fandom is regionally based. Blame USC President Carol Folt for taking B1G bag and starting this mess.
8 plays per drive. 2-3 drives in a qtr. 24 plays is not much different than what we saw from the UGA GT OT game. Make it a 10 minute or 8 minute quarter.1 play vs dozens....much riskier.
That Tenn is above Indiana no matter what but teams that are playing can drop or rise. If they drop we could conceivably move up but a team currently below us that doesn’t play this weekend can’t jump us. IOW, Indy can’t jump us, BAMA can’t jump us etc
Would be better IMO
It is actual football, it's just accelerated to (99% of the time) end it more quickly. Just like penalty kicks in soccer or, hockey, once you've done some overtime of normal football you go to a penalty kick type situation.8 plays per drive. 2-3 drives in a qtr. 24 plays is not much different than what we saw from the UGA GT OT game. The stuff they are doing now is stupid. If it's so good, way not just play the whole game that way? Why have a game for 4 qtrs, then decide the outcome on something different than actual football?
Agreed. The problem with the BCS, was it supposedly did not account for "eye-test". Which to me is not really applicable when you have a 12-team field. All the outrage over the CFB committee and we'd be even lower in the BCS lol.
That said, give me the computer rankings. At least teams know and can plan for the criteria and we do away with all the drama. Also, get rid of the stupid conference winner byes crap. I'm totally fine with them getting qualified automatically. I'm even fine with granting the top G5 team a spot, but seed the teams from best to worst and I'm a lot happier.

I think it's best overtime in all of sports to be honest. Perfectly fair, much more entertaining than just one more quarter. And tired players aren't playing more than a few plays at a time.
