How about just play another quarter of. . . football. It takes as long as a quarter in this format anyway.

Because you're asking for injuries if you make tired kids play dozens of additional plays in a full quarter of football. This format limits the number of additional plays while keeping it fair.

Man, great ideal from DW. We could have computer with set parameters objectively select the teams. On second thought it sounds to fantastical, could never work.
Ten years ago the people wanted a human element in the process, well, they got it.
I personally think we should have a cow pasture marked with squares with each team logo on them. Then turn an engorged cow loose to pick the teams by sh!tting on the squares. Now that would preserve the integrity of the process.
We could decide ties like that too, forget over time.

We don’t do that. Tried and trusted with several otherwise dubious HCs/administrations. Ohio State did it with Guarantano.

Florida definitely overpaying for the class. AP suggested they’re overpaying kids by hundreds of thousands of dollars.

if he stays with UGA, he REALLY wanted to be in this class. I’ll tell you that.

I’m calling it now. This class will be the kiss of death to the Florida program and cement them to underwhelment for the next 4 years.

Timeline:
2022-2023 Sunbelt Billy losing seasons
2024 Florida makes miraculous recovery to go 7-5 instead of 4-8
2024 Uses momentum and massive money bags to salvage a top 50 recruiting class and turn it into a top 10.
2025 Heisman Hopeful DJ Lagway has season ending injury from being run too much and poor oline protection. UF goes 6-6. 2024 recruiting class holds them hostage for bigger bags.
2026 Once again mass exodus and Florida doesn’t recover. Locker room issues. 8-4 and Billy fired end of season amidst “fractured culture” environment.
2027 rebuild starts over with less money to spend. Dark ages are cemented. 5 years of poverty program results becomes 10.

But do they? I mean they gave up 20 pts to the only good team they played with OSU who just scored 10 pts against Michigan. I mean they also gave up 27 to Bowling Green, 30 to USCwest and 25 to Minnesota.
