Those who go JUCO go because they fail to meet Clearing House (or whatever they call it now) requirements. Most it is "handled" at the high school level. Most high schools are better in these matters these days and very "diligent" in making sure that their athletes qualify. ACT scores are the biggest hurdle. Most ACTs are given at the school now so amazingly it now seems to be less of an issue.Schools seem to do a better job of getting guys eligible too. I did notice that Mississippi State had several JC guys.
That should be the move going into next. Main reason why I don't think we need a portal safety next year. Boo and Harrison are more than capable holding down the STAR.Disagree. Matthews is a true corner not a star. If he was good enough to play star he would have played there this year over Christian Harrison and boo Carter. More likely they move jourdan thomas to safety and leave boo at star
Will Brooks at FS is the only starter we know for sure that's leaving. So assuming Matthews is wanting to start somewhere next year.
CB 1: McCoy returns as a Junior
CB 2: Gibson III returns as a Junior
SS: Turrentine returns as a RS-Senior (could leave for Draft though)
FS: Charles
STAR: Boo Carter
Question will be with Jakobe Thomas, Jalen McMurray and Jourdan Thomas will any of the above players lose the starting role?
McMurray was our 3rd CB playing behind McCoy. And Jordan 4th though..
I don't know how interchangeable they are, but it feels like you want your best and most athletic option at STAR. So Boo stays put in my opinion. Unless they have the radical idea of moving him to receiver.Feel like Boo might move back to Brooks’ safety spot and Thomas takes star back over?
Not sure how interchangeable the two safety spots and star posits are.
