New York City in the 70s and 80’s is an exception that immediately comes to mind. Detroit in the same era too.

Got a lot of good music from those cities. NYC gave us a ton until LA took over the music scene in the 80s with hair metal and Pop. But as for Detroit.. Even 80s new Jack swing groups I like were heavily influenced by Motown. New edition, Alexander O’Neal, Troop, etc.

I was an athlete bro…as a kid I spent my time outside it doesn’t take much to impress me when it comes to technology..just the fact that there’s kids out here doing some “ski mask” lick hitting sh**t behind a computer at 14 years old…I mean that kind of knowledge you go to school for hoping you end up in like the NSA or something….just crazy work all around

Me too. I’m probably the last generation to grow up without high speed internet for the most part. But I grew up in such a rural area that that part of SC still doesn’t have cable internet to this day lol.
