Tulane is turning into quite the farm. I think they are leaning into it rather than resisting it.

I don't know why people couldn't understand this would happen. I am not totally against have certain conference championships being a play in game, like basketball, but not for a bye and a top seeding.
Sorry not all conferences are created equal. The autobids are great for the welfare teams in playoff this year, but they means next to nothing to the SEC schools and could be costly, as we have seen.
The lame autobids in this playoff should get the lowest seeds, it would make for some crappy first round games but not the whole tournament. It is beyond ridiculous that Ariz St and Boise St are top four seeds. Even that Harris woman would think it was stupid.
We are paying for winning the natty practically every year for the past 20 years. I said years ago when the BCS began that the only way they keep an SEC team from winning the natty is to not let them in the game. That is still true.
