I just talked to a P4 coach. He said NIL for 2025 has become insane. Players who made $50,000 per year last year are now at $350,000. He just heard that another school in his conference just paid $600,000 for a LT. He evaluated the same LT and his school did not offer him over health issues.
Exactly. Everything that the worry circle and "morally" outraged said was going to happen, we got the opposite. Why tho? There’s more parity in CFB than there has been in a long time.

We're in the golden age of Vols athletics.
I seem to recall seeing that too. Prolly in the comments section on an article at Eleven Warriors. Posters there faulted Day for stubbornly sticking to the idea of running up the middle against Meatchicken, and are calling for attacking the edges and using their (they say great, prolly is) short passing game.I can't remember where I heard it/saw it but but apparently Will Howard's stats are a lot better when facing the blitz rather than having time to sit in the pocket
That's the thing. All those comments are aimed at convincing fans at other schools to oppose NIL, while they go full bore ahead with NIL. Like Saban did. We was like "NIL bad" and then the TV cut to a (Bama) Bryce Young (not the great Bryce Young) Dr. Pepper commercial.Oh, his school has upped the money.
Thanks. I didn't know. @Ulysees E. McGillMcGill is talking about Turrentine saying their stadium isn’t SEC loud.
It's the old regime of double-standard enforcement fighting for it's life. Those "let them eat cake" bishes need to go away. And I wonder if the coaches complaining are willing to forego raises when they’re offered. Or take a pay cut to show that the pay to players is out of control. Or be on board for a regulating body to implement a salary cap for coaching staffs.
While they are at it I think murder should be made illegal and make it illegal for it rain on Tennessee home games.Need a salary cap and position minimum in a CBA.... With real enforcement for those who skirt the rules.
The parity is because more teams are ass. That's not a good thing. Why tho? There’s more parity in CFB than there has been in a long time.
Not really it's a very unsustainable systemThat would return us to the living hell of NCAA rigging outcomes by a blind-eye for favorites and constant harassment of enemies. The bad ol' days when Saban knew he throw giant bags and Chargers with impunity.
NCAA is even attempting get advance access to every NIL contract with veto power. Nightmare. These are the good ole day, checkers.

2. Eventually without one good teams will just buy all the high end talent.
3. This isn't a sustainable model at all. It's going to either price all fans out, or crash to a point of no recovery.
You heard earlier, coaches are throwing 300k at a kid worth 50k a year ago. You've already seen price increases in TV contracts and ticket prices. It's will eventually choke itself.Such is the risk of a free market. Let the market correct itself.
Just bc players are asking for X amount of money doesn’t mean anyone has to pay it.
Good teams were buying all the good players before, just under the table. We’ve seen that model.

Nah this is a different animal entirely when paying is legal.
