Recruiting Football Talk VIII

This was always going to be the consequence of marrying casinos with sports leagues. No one talks about it, and I don’t understand how. There’s a Bet MGM sports book inside some MLB Stadiums and were supposed to pretend that they’d never fix games lmao
How is a sports book being located in a stadium in any way related to fixing games? 99.999% of money coming in on that game happens outside the stadium. What does the sports book location have to do with it?

And you have evidence that the humber of games being fixed has risen since sports books were allowed inside venues?

listen pal you didn't melt down with us. you can't just show up, without melting. it's a vn tradition.

That one stressed me out. Not gonna lie. That was the 1st time I can remember that the fix was clearly in, and we managed to win anyway somehow. Cannot remember the last time that happened.

They called those 2 BS fouls on ZZ on the same posession for Illinois 90 seconds into the 2nd half. So took away our point guard and reigning SEC defensive POY for ~16mins out of the 20min second half. Then when Barnes finally felt safe to put ZZ and Lanier back in the game...they run an ISO play on Lanier who immediately fouls out for standing on the ground with his hands above his head. Total BS. Then they called the 5th foul on ZZ while he was RUNNING to get out of the ball carriers way, with his BACK to him, and the big bastard a foot taller than ZZ runs intentionally straight into the back of ZZ instead of towards you know...the basket...and they call the foul on ZZ. Even the TV guys were like " what the Hell was that call?" Both live and on replay. The refs absolutely did everything they could to steal this game from us, but Gainey put the team on his back and scored 18 points in the 2nd half. Wow. Just wow. We never beat the vegas cheat...but this time we did.

I LOVE the fact that when both teams had already lined up and shook hands, there were STILL 2 REFS watching video from the scorers table absolutely DISTRAUGHT that they didnt get us beat. Their faces will be remembered, thank you to whomever posted that screenshot of their faces watching the video here!!! Lmao. Those dudes are in deep doodoo. Better post a couple patrol cars outside their homes. They must have already taken the money for fixing this game...they were bigtime worried. Love it. GO VOLS

Pretty sick:

And not sure if this was posted/discussed, but UT guys went 2-3 in the 100 free earlier in the meet at World Championships:

You really believe sports books being in bed with the leagues has zero potential for corruption?

I really believe any corruption was already happening and the potential didn't go up by allowing sports books in stadiums.

And I really believe in using relevant facts to support a belief instead of "sports books are in stadiums so they must be fixing games."

That’s why I think there’s more corruption lol. Of course it was happening before, just ask the NBA. Now the gambling is everywhere, not just Vegas.

If we legalized heroin nationally, any idiot could predict a rise in crimes associated with it like theft and vagrancy. Gambling being legalized everywhere will increase corruption. I don’t need proof to make an inference. It’s the same thing.

One could argue it would lead to less corruption. There are more eyes and scrutiny on games now than ever before.
From who? The lawmakers these sports books are lobbying with millions of dollars to legalize gambling or the sports leagues they’re paying millions of dollars for partnerships?
