Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Rule #1. Never bet on playoff/bowl games or rivalry games based on the popular opinion. They're probably the best games to fade the public. Things are rarely what the talking heads say. . . I think that's where a lot of the bets are coming from, people being influenced by guys like Josh Pate saying osu wins, but Tennessee covers.
Playing against the most talented team in the country, being given no chance by the general public and only a little chance by a few in the media, while fans launch an absolute invasion. I’m getting SugarVols vibes.

Only alloted 3500 tickets to TN. That's why no full band.
Yeah. That's what I am saying. They give us a pittance and then have 25% or more of their tickets go unsold. Then they want to donate them to the "underprivileged" instead of risking an even larger Vol turnout than is coming for them.

From a "Band Dad" prospective these kids bust their ass all year long and look forward to post season play just like the team. They look forward to a bowl game trip as much as anybody. The fact this is a limited trip is a big blow.

If they were being influenced by a guy saying Tennessee covers, then 90% of the bets wouldn't be on OSU would they?

This is bigger than people are realizing i think. Especially from a crowd noise perspective.
