Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Happy Thursday

December 19, 2024: Rise up out of the dead ashes of the past to face a brand new day. Begin again with renewed hope, and refuse to allow the devil to steal your sense of value and commitment to life in the Spirit. Ephesians 6:10-11 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Guarantee those 50% grew up in a blue state. Waiting for that perfect degree to come about.
That's a fairly broad brush you're painting with. Seems to be a pattern, everything is always political.

Could be first two years are now paid for, at Comm college. Kids save as much money as possible. Everything is expensive.

That isnt a blue or red thing, man.

Yea it's bc his 2 JUCO season. His argument is the JUCO seasons shouldn't count toward eligibility. He won his temporary injunction but if the NCAA continues to fight it and wins, he wouldn't be eligible.
The NCAA is not fighting anyone anymore. They're are dead. The thought of a courtroom terrifies them.

Agree!

It's crazy how much things have changed since I went from HS to college. Rather than everyone being pushed to college, there is a lot better recognition of the need to develop a balanced work force today: professional, technical, agricultural, etc.

As a result it's not necessary for all kids to relocate at 18 years old. Sure there are some living off their parents in a protective cocoon, not developing independence or life skills, but those situations have always existed. There are more who are being judicious with their money or don't feel the need to go live in dorms/apartments/frat houses for no good reason.

Tennessee has lost 21 state road games against top 10 teams. The last win against a team ranked 10 or higher on the road was 2006.
Road game? What does that have to do with this game. We beat a top ten team at home this year. We are gonna do it again against Blowhio. Neyland North will be rockin'.

We also beat a top 10 team (Clemson) in a neutral site. Sure it’s not a true road game but yeah. Also in 2022 LSU did finish top 10 so technically we did beat a top 10 team on the road

This will put Florida ahead of us now. How does a 7-5 Florida out recruit a 10-2 team going to the playoffs? I think we’ve only out recruited them one year yet we’ve gone 30-8 in the last 3 years…

Right now they’re throwing $ at everyone. But being in the state of FL will always give them an advantage over us.

The number of people responding to Tweets about this series with “all the blue bloods/good SEC teams …and Missouri….passed on it” are seriously missing what it means to be an elite program.

Georgia and Alabama are blue bloods, Texas and Oklahoma are big brands, Ole Miss is meh….the teams who are in the series are more prominent IMO than the ones who aren’t.
