Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Oh lord, people gonna be piling on with Buckeye Bob stuff now....
Nobody is safe..... it's the playoffs.

GO VOLS

*it is amazing how life goes. I hope this isn't Kesling's last call but what a way to go out. Calling a game between your alma mater and your family's school/childhood dream school in the playoffs. 🙌

🤔

*Of course, a National Championship would be a lot more epic for everyone else.

😳

**Stop being so selfish, Bob!!! 😡

Cool story. Do you know Clausens stats from the 2001 and 2003 games? Let’s see.

2001- 17/25 168 yards 1 TD and 2 INTs

2003- 12/23 235 yards 1 TD and 1 INT

So in the two big wins many fans attribute to Clausen, he threw 2 TDs and 3 INTs. In 2001, we won 34-32. Clausen accounted for 7 points. In 2003, we won 24-10. Again he accounted for 7 points. So those combined games the “iceman” accounted for 14 out of 58 points.

Tell me again how Clausen “beat” UF. You and others need to learn what a team game is. He was not the main reason we beat UF in 2001 and 2003. In 2001, Stephen’s drained the swamp. He wa the main reason we won in 2001. In 2003, again it was the running game and a great defense. Just like this year.

Would you say Nico beat UF this year?
No you wouldn’t. He was part of it. But we won because of great defense and an elite run game. Just like in 2001 and 2003. Lear some history before you act like an idiot.
Bwaa-ha-ha ! Dude, really ? Just take your "L", say my bad and fight another day. We all have took one, man up

We had to put our 9 year old matriarch pup down today. Asking everyone to raise a glass in honor of her. Her name is Paisley. We'll miss her. Thank you.
I just saw this...........I'm so sorry.
Losing a pup is hard. I still miss my Phoebe more than anyone knows............

Nothing better than the love from a dog! Prayers my friend.

The NCAA and the universities and conferences are are not the same. The NCAA in name is the governing body of intercollegiate athletics. They have for a while now abdicated their power, failed to act on many issues, and now are a toothless tiger.
The new structure will be about 40-50 top tier programs ruling themselves and everybody else. I am not saying there is any less corruption at the conference level, the SEC is plenty corrupt, but there will be more localized control and the NCAA is out. It's like how the Dobbs decision got the abortion issue out of the feds hands and sent it back to the states.
It's a new day it America, in a lot of things.
The NCAA is 100% the universities. Just the regulating body they put out there to do their bidding. The NCAA literally just executes what their members want...that's how association bodies operate.

Funny how once the NCAA started losing in courts...the players gained their power, huh 🤔😒

So now the unis will shed their skin with a "new entity" 🤭 Same old shenanigans. New power re-grab. They're not going to go quietly into the night.

All a sham. They're still the wizards behind the screen, as they always have been. Don't be fooled. But now maybe they'll be the ones getting sued directly (or more directly). They won't win. Injustice eventually falls.

WVLT is talking about Bob Kesling and his love of the buckeye. Just another reason why I never fully accepted him.

WATE did a special on Kesling a few years ago. He grew up in Ohio, his dad was a drum major for the buckeyes, and Kesling wanted to walk on at Ohio State. Unfortunately, his parents couldn't afford tuition, so he ended up in Knoxville and walked on for UT. And the rest is history.

What a turn of events.

It always felt to me like he didn't love Tennessee when I listened to his calls. Now I see why. Regardless of where he went to college he's still a buckeye at heart. I don't know why Tennessee would hire someone who doesn't love the university to call the football games. Makes zero sense.

What team's OL are you discussing? We're better at run blocking than pass blocking.
I’ll have to disagree. The issue is that teams lately have known when we are going to throw and have brought blitzes knowing we are throwing. This has been because we’ve had trouble with receivers etc in the passing game. Overall we are a better pass blocking team than run blocking. (This also is because of our issues in the passing game)
