Funny story... when I was 10-12 year old I was always building stuff. I built this hang glider out of thin strips of wood and this paper my dad brought home in rolls. It was like potato chip bag material that was defective. It had the logos printed on the paper. I covered the wood frame with the paper. It had like a 10' wingspan. I talked my brother who was 4 years younger, in jumping off the back porch. I'd say it was about 10' drop. It didn't slow him down a bit.Should be the safest way to test it. I can use a trash bag for a backup chute.
Exactly. If people only tune in to see the university brand of an amateur sport, then ok...the coaches should be paid 1% of what they are now. And they should be happy being paid as an amatuer coach of an amateur sport...just shut up and coach...Sooooo.....
A business that makes hand- over- foot is now dispersing a much higher percentage of that money to the "employees" that people tune in to watch. Rather than a ridiculously inflated amount of that money going to ego inflated head coaches/AD's. Oh the humanity! Look a capitalist system is what it is. No other way around it. It's a flawed system but it absolutely better than any alternative. A flaw is income distribution being completely jacked up in many scenarios.
Admin and coaching at the college level is one such scenario. But, again, it is what it is. Good for them. However...... don't be a beneficiary of that system and then turn around and be contradictory when referring to the evils of the system that now puts money into the hands of the people that truly provide the product. All that does is make you look like a disingenuous jerk. The core of the issue though is that people like Nick Saban TRUELY believe they are the entire product and so they are worth every dime they are paid and the people who "work" under him are simply lucky to be allowed to work for him. They do not deserve big paychecks because he does all the real work being done.
And that's how we learned @InVOLuntary was a sociopath.Funny story... when I was 10-12 year old I was always building stuff. Another time my brother and I were going through a neighborhood garage sale. We came across an old military parachute. We had to buy it. Our thought was we would use it behind our boat like a parasail. We took it home and put it in the garage. One summer day it was really windy and we thought it would be a good time to try it out in the back yard. I strapped my brother in. Tied a 50' rope to him. Tied the other end to a fence post, upwind. Got some air in the parachute and bam. It would pick him up about 10 feet and slam him on the ground. Pick him up again and slam him back on the ground, over and over. I was laughing so hard I couldn't help him. He was so mad at me. Oh to have video.
