Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Listen to yourselves. We just had one of the best defenses in the country, and had one of the best years in the last two decades, after being left for dead as a program just 4 years ago, and you all want to fire coaches.

This place is like hanging out at Chuckee Cheese. You have to listen to kids cry and scream their toddler-logic, and will likely get another case of chicken pox for the trouble.
The biggest difference is that at Chuckie Cheese you have to leave to get away.

On VN, you can generously use the ignore list. Then you don’t have to listen to the wailing and crying of the moronic Legion of the Miserable. 🤠

There’s the RF regulars who are complaining but I won’t put them on ignore because they just need to work through their grief. However, there are several who joined the LotM a while back and promptly joined the ignorant ignore list. 😎

Do with it what you will…

Since the idiot margin is out in full-force, this isn’t my information and, again, I clearly said, “do with it what you will.” I don‘t need to be counseled on the veracity of the post.

Spyre gives you $100k right now for future endorsements while you're at UT until the $100k is covered by your NiL contracts. You do an endorsement while Spyre is managing your NiL and before the $100k is recouped, then the endorsement money goes to cover the $100k. I don't see the big deal with this. If they're keeping the $ above and beyond the $100k of the original deal, that's bad. If they're just fulfilling the original NiL management deal, what's the problem?

Sounds like player in Tweet did not read his contract

We need alot but gotta have a QB or none of it matters. Can't win without a good QB.
Can't keep a good QB healthy to play and win for you without a good line, especially tackles.

You're trying to put $6k dollar crated motor into a car that doesn't have road worthy rims and tires........

The horse comes before the cart.

Or have any understanding of what he read. . . Some of these guys think the money is free. They're not getting paid to put on the pads, they're getting paid for their NiL & what it can bring in. (Don't know why Sally keeps autocorrecting NIL to NiL). . .

If I give you $100k right now and expect you to pay it back through any future endorsement deals. . . what's the problem? Just because you have an outside endorsement deal doesn't mean I'm no longer your NIL management firm. I'd be interested to see how they are paid once the original $100k is covered. They should get the 90% of $ on deals after they $100k.

True or not, goes back to what I said about Spyre at the very beginning. I'm not giving money to a business where the line between my money and the service I'm attempting to buy is "trust me bro".

Whenever **** feels like it's going sideways with roster management, tweets like this will appear. Because the system is completely opaque.

I would rather keep building and get a 26 QB
This is the way, if you can trade back and get multiple first round picks you do it every time.

This is off-season we need to sign a bridge QB... That way we are flexible, we have options. If we get a trade deal you can take it. If you go into this draft without a starting option you leave yourself no room to be flexible and do what makes the most sense....... If you don't you have to take what you can get..... Instead of what you want that best fits needs, and we have too many needs.

This is how every smart franchise runs their draft..... Otherwise you're just hoping to get lucky and hit with what falls in your lap.

So it’s more or less a loan? Except the payment is them making money off your NIL rather than you paying money from your own pocket?

I wish there was more transparency but you have to assume if the university is promoting the collective they aren’t going to let someone scam the fans and take advantage of the athletes.

You would hope there would be some checks and balances that force the collective to at least give the staff transparency. I would bet if Boyd, Plowman, White, Heupel got a whiff of impropriety they would snuff that out pretty quick.

Four boys I gotta feed and they all love eggs. I’m not sure my town allows for backyard chickens. Friggin gestapo.
some will as long as you dont have roosters. if they wont let you- a way around this is by raising quail. theres $$ in quail eggs. and they dont need to free range. they stay in a cage like a rabbit hutch.

Chuck E. Cheese used to have beer and even wine, in the late 90's - 00's. With beer, pizza and video games/skee-ball, I can block out everything

The Commanders are doing this and look fine. Which is why I like Ward over Sanders bc he is more mobile. A mobile QB can help a bad OL.

Plus I'm not confident we could draft the right OLineman anyway. Our previous 2 OL 1st round picks are average at best.

I would have expected Spyre and the Volunteer Club to have higher profile and larger corporate entities as brand partners - several large business entities located in or around Knoxville with large Ad/Marketing Budgets. And Spyre and the Vol Club are run by the same folks.

This is sideways AF.... It's the spirit of NIL but I'd guarantee other schools are giving 100k plus NIL deals.
