I recall there being a bit more, but AV also said that some of his stuff he could not confirm.Beaver was spreading his stuff and several on here called him out. So he said to ask AV about the name of some bartender around town that only those in the know (ie more affluent than the rest of us) would recognize and AV confirmed the name was legit. However, to my knowledge that’s all AV confirmed, I don’t recall him ever saying the other stuff Beaver was saying was accurate. But someone can correct me on that point.

A strong AD makes the hire himself. Saying he couldn’t do his job is kind of ridiculous. Sure, there were some influences, but look where that got him.Currie wasn't allowed to do his job during the hire to replace Butch. Mullen was the obvious first call, and when that didn't work out he was railroaded into Schiano. By the end of it, he was going to hire Leach before he was fired. I don't think Leach would have been as good here as Heupel has been, but he absolutely would have been a hell of a lot better than Pruitt.
When he was allowed to do his job with a lower-stakes hire like baseball, he hired Tony V.
No it isn't. When he actually tried to do his job, Bev Davenport called him back to Knoxville and fired him. The AD has multiple bosses.A strong AD makes the hire himself. Saying he couldn’t do his job is kind of ridiculous. Sure, there were some influences, but look where that got him.
He also allowed the Grumors to fester. He was calling the shots as to how to handle it. Leadership….leadership…leadership.
Fair point. I will admit I look at it more from his bundling of the football search than I do anything else. But you are correct, the administration as a whole during that time was atrocious. Anyone remember “Big Orange, Big Ideas”? That ungodly eye sore of a banner covering half of alumni hall…man I hate Jimmy Cheek.Currie wasn't allowed to do his job during the hire to replace Butch. Lol…Currie went AWOL. He got fired because they had no clue what he was doing. He was awful, I don’t get how someone could defend him.No it isn't. When he actually tried to do his job, Bev Davenport called him back to Knoxville and fired him. The AD has multiple bosses.
That's code for spending too much time on here.@LoudOrange: Keeper of VolNation Lore
They fired him because they didn't like what he was doing. They were trying to micromanage and babysit him. If you are letting your AD do his job and trust him, do you care what his exact whereabouts are 24/7?Lol…Currie went AWOL. He got fired because they had no clue what he was doing.
