Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Yes, the monster was essentially Frankenstein, what was inside of him...the monster was the physical manifestation.

"See, the metaphors and symbology, digging to the root meaning of what the true statement of Shelley's masterpiece is..."

Trying to act and sound snooty, discussing "the classics".

I'll show myself out...

🥸🤣 I am having frightening flashbacks to high school english class.

Beer will make you fat but get you a pleasant buzz and like wine has the benefit of being slow enough for you to know you should stop (you might not heed you body and brain's advice but you almost always know with either one that one more is gonna be too much). Whiskey will murder your liver before you realize you have a buzz and trust me this is not a death you want to go through let alone put your family through. Wine you can drink all day with not much negative effect as long as you're not chugging it. I have never been a fan of any hard liquor beyond the occasional drink on special occasions. It's just too easy to do damage before you realize what you've done or to get far more intoxicated than you ever intended. I also think it's much more likely to lead to genuine alcohol problems. Nothing wrong with the occasional sip if you like it but it's just so much harder on the body.
That’s exactly what a loved one used to say, as he drank beer more and more, to the point his alcoholism caused him to take his own life.

Thank you!!! Gameday is a TERRIBLY overrated show that stopped being entertaining 10-15 years ago…even when it’s in Knoxville.

It’s just something to have on in the background in the mornings while sipping coffee and making breakfast. Nothing more.

I don’t watch it thoroughly but it’s good background noise on a fall Saturday morning and kicks off the day.

That's horrible. I'm sorry you had to go through that and that he suffered from alcohol problems and depression. I don't think we do enough to support people when we've known for millenia that alcohol can be a serious problem for many people.

When it comes to alcohol nothing is going to be fool proof, especially if you're drinking away sorrows, drinking every day or drinking too much on an upward path or genetically prone to alcoholism or have a propensity towards fatty liver disease. I've just seen far more functional beer drinkers with alcohol issues. Whenever I see people with the same issues using hard liquor their bodies tend to be in much worse shape because of the difference in abv. But nothing is gonna save you if you're drinking a 24 pack a night and catching up to liquor by drinking an enormous amount to make up the abv. It might take longer but it will catch you.

Okay I need some intel from VN…

The daughter of one of my partners just started at the new Osteopathic school in Knoxville.

She told her Dad that people are throwing trash at her vehicle when she is driving around Knoxville. She has Texas plates and has an SMU emblem on her vehicle.

Can anyone tell me why this is happening?
He and I talked about it today and can’t figure it out…

Thanks.
My daughter has had her car in Knoxville for the last 3 years (TX plates) and never had any problems. She has Vols' stickers though.

It’s all poison. Delicious poison. But poison.

Tequila and whiskey are generally a much healthier alternative than beer and white wine. Red wine is the best health wise

Now people that can’t control themselves is another story
